ALZI Production
is the name of a Russian-based film production company that was founded by Aleksandr Zimin in 2018. The company specializes in web-serials starring women portraying DC Comics and Marvel Comics superheroines. Among the characters featured include: Batgirl, Batwoman, Black Cat, Black Widow, Catwoman, Dark Supergirl, Harley Quinn, Miles Morales, Silk, Spider-Girl, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman. In July 2021, ALZI Production introduced an entirely original character named A-Girl.
While extensively a Russian production company, the films are subtitled in English and also in Russian whenever the characters just so happen to randomly speak English.
ALZI Production contains examples of:
- The Bad Guy Wins: "Alternate" versions of the videos tend to feature the heroines actually be defeated and unmasked.
- "Blind Idiot" Translation: Occasionally, the subtitles that translate from Russian to English are susceptible to this.
- Damsel in Distress: A common theme is the heroines immediately being placed in mortal peril whether it be through bear-hugging, hair-pulling, gun-shots, Kryptonite (in the case for Supergirl), poisoning, or strangulation.
- Faux Action Girl: This often can fall into this category considering that the women are often captured and tortured by the villains.
- How Did We Get Back Home?: In "Harley Quinn", Harley discusses this trope when asked about whether the Big Bad and his mooks will stay dead. Breaking the Fourth Wall, she answers that they are just actors that will somehow come back home soon.
- The Mafiya: Many of the foes in these videos are thugs, ordinary criminals, or mobster types.
- Selfie Fiend: A Running Gag appears to concern people for whom the superoheroines have just rescued, to take a selfie on their cell phones with them.
- Sensual Slavs: Basically, the entire film series is made up of gorgeous Russian women cosplaying as comic book characters.
- Would Hit a Girl: Given that the heroines featured in the films often get involved in heavy-duty fights with criminals.
