Pancake's Show is a animated web series created by Fly. The first episode premiered on December 12, 2020. The series' titular character is Pancake, a good-natured but dimwitted person who lives with his snarky best friend Mars. He also has a friend named Liam, who's a science wiz, and a sister named Waffle, who's rather ditzy.

The series can be watched here.

This work provides examples of:

  • Action Pet: Cruncher in "Plant Sitting".
  • A Day in the Limelight: Liam gets his own centric episode with "Battle of Witz".
  • Alien Abduction: The episode "Procrastination" ends with Pancake being abducted by aliens.
  • All Just a Dream: The ending to "?" is like this at first, until it's revealed at the very end that Pancake wasn't actually dreaming and his supposed "dream" was a reality all along.
  • Ax-Crazy: Mars is shown to be this throughout the series. For example, in "Battle of Witz", it's revealed that Mars potentially murdered his high school rival for picking on him.
  • Bee Afraid: "A Really BEE-ig Problem" involves Pancake and Mars being sent to bee prison after touching a bee's beehive repeatedly. Bees.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: The show does this on occasion.
    • In "The Great Detective(s) of Waffletown", Pancake wears his spare hat since his actual hat is missing. Pancake says he looks like a goofball, and Mars says that he has to wear it for the whole episode.
    • In "The Rat Problem", the Rat makes a joke about Mars, and a laugh track plays. Mars notices the laugh track and demands the canned laughter to stop. It then cuts to a YouTube video of teeth chattering getting paused.
    • The episodes "Educational Television" and "Not-Pancake's Show" are entire fourth wall breaks, with the former episode essentially being Pancake talking to you about the wonders of nature, and the latter being about every character wanting an episode to themselves.
  • Cartoon Creature: Mars and Cruncher.
  • Character Title: Pancake's Show.
  • Christmas Episode: "Christmas Present" and "Holiday Hoax".
  • Collector of the Strange: Abigail is shown to be a proud collector of plug-n-play consoles.
    • Melvin in "The Spork" also appears to be a collector of sporks.
  • Day in the Life: "A Day in the Life of Pancake".
  • Deadpan Snarker: Some characters are this sometimes, mostly Mars.
  • Do Not Touch the Funnel Cloud: The episode "Tornado".
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: Mars in "Christmas Present" was seen flying, which he doesn't do in later episodes.
  • Fingerless Hands: Mars is usually seen with these. Some of the human characters also used to have these in the earlier episodes.
  • Fish People: Finley.
  • Four-Fingered Hands: Most of the characters have this.
  • Funny Animal: Some characters like Abigail, Casey, and Melvin are this.
  • Game Show Host: The Quiz Show Guy, though he's also a news reporter as well.
  • Great Detective: "The Great Detective(s) of Waffletown".
  • Halloween Episode: "Ain't Got No Eyes or Nothing".
  • Insomnia Episode: The episode "Sleepwalking" is this.
  • Laugh Track: Parodied in "The Rat Problem" above.
  • Never Bareheaded: Pancake and Waffle. They are rarely seen without their hats.
  • Newscaster Cameo: Quiz Show Guy is this whenever he's not a quiz show host.
  • New Year Has Come: The episode "New Year's 2022" where Pancake and friends watch the ball drop on New Year's Eve.
  • Nice Guy: Pancake is this most of the time.
  • No Name Given: Melvin was initially just an unnamed cat character that appeared occasionally. It wasn't until "Now on Sale!" where he finally had the name "Melvin".
  • Non-Human Sidekick: Pancake and Mars.
  • Pet Contest Episode: "Battle of Witz" becomes this at the end where Liam takes his pet piranha plant Petey to the World's Best Inventions competition.
  • Santa's Existence Clause: "Holiday Hoax" follows this trope almost to a T.
    • The plot is basically Pancake learning how Santa Lemon Claus isn't real by Melvin, though later it turns out that Lemon Claus actually is real.
  • Snowball Fight: "Snowball War", which involves Pancake and Mars having a snowball fight using machine guns.
  • The City: Waffletown.
  • Thick-Line Animation: This show is this mostly.
  • Unrealistic Black Hole: The black hole in "?".
  • You Dirty Rat!: The rats in "The Rat Problem".
