Murdering off your rivals just proves how strong you are and how weak they are, and therefore how worthy a mate you are. Saiyans are probably just more blatant about it cause, you know, proud warrior race. No wonder Vegeta loved it.

Someone has to do a pacifist run and I don't see Gohan being allowed to play any time soon.- Although I would like to point out how hilarious/ironic it'd be if Nappa was the one that managed a pacifist run.
