WMG / Tanjiro & Kagome: A Taishō-Heisei Friendship

Go To

Miroku will succeed Tengen as the Sound Hashira
  • The peg leg won't do much to slow Miroku down, unlike Tengen's Career-Ending Injury, so Tengen deems Miroku ready to take his place among the Hashira.
    • Jossed, as it's confirmed that Miroku can no longer fight as a Demon Slayer.

The Swordsmith Village arc
  • Extra scenes will be added, or minor context will be changed.
    • Kagome and Inuyasha will wake up before Tanjiro and will be among the people who greet him when he awakens.
      • Shippo and Senjuro will also join Kanao, Goto, the Butterfly girls, and Aoi in greeting Tanjiro when he awakens from his coma.
        Confirmed.
      • Kagome will catch onto Haganezuka's hate letters for Tanjiro, think something along the lines of "Ugh, why can't he just leave Tanjiro alone?", then hide the letters and tell Tanjiro that Haganezuka doesn't have a sword ready for him. Or she could simply just show Tanjiro the letter that says "I have no sword for you".
        Confirmed.
    • Kagome and Inuyasha both will accompany Tanjiro to the Swordsmith village.
      • Inuyasha acts snarky to Chief Tecchin and refuses to bow out of pride, while Kagome tells him to be respectful, even if she does secretly agree with Inuyasha's opinion about the chief and also shows disgust to his Dirty Old Man tendencies.
Jossed, as Kagome and Inuyasha never interact with the chief.
      • Kagome averts the Pervert Revenge Mode trope on Tanjiro because she knows that Tanjiro is a gentleman and was only trying to help Mitsuri, though she does consider otherwise when Tanjiro gets a nosebleed (that was actually due to Mitsuri telling him there's a hidden sword he can use).
Jossed, as Kagome is the one who keeps Mitsuri's chest from getting exposed. She also ends up teasing Tanjiro and Kanao's status as a couple.
      • Inuyasha will butt heads with Kotetsu just like he does with Shippo.
      • Inuyasha doesn't accompany Tanjiro to the bath, but he does meet Genya again in his room and finds out his secret.
      • Kagome will take a bath with either Mitsuri or Sango. She'll have a lot of time to catch up with the two while Tanjiro is off training under Kotetsu. Kagome will also discover some special Wisteria arrows left behind by Kikyo.
    • The fight against Hantengu and Gyokko
      • Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Muichiro will be in the same room as Kagome, Rin, Sango and Kohaku (with Rin befriending Nezuko very quickly) when Hangentu enters the room. Kohaku will get Rin to safety while everyone tries to deal with Hantengu. Once Hantengu splits into Sekido (Anger) and Karaku (Pleasure) and the latter sends Muichiro flying, Genya and Inuyasha will enter the battlefield to decapitate both of Hantengu's emotions only to make them split off Aizetsu (Sorrow) and Urogi (Joy).
      • While Tanjiro is fighting Urogi, the others fight off against Hantengu's other emotions as follows: Kagome and Sango vs Sekido, Genya and Inuyasha vs Aizetsu, and Nezuko vs Karaku.
      • Muichiro reunites with Kohaku and Rin before they cross paths with Kotetsu and Kanamori. Muichiro and Kohaku will clash with Gyokko before the Upper Rank demon traps them both and gets distracted trying to break Haganezuka's concentration. Both Demon Slayers will be saved by Rin and Kotetsu as they awaken the Demon Slayer marks and turn the tides against Gyokko.
      • After Sekido absorbs Karaku, Urogi, and Aizetsu to transform into Zohakuten (Hatred) and the latter calls the Demon Slayers "awful villains" for trying to decapitate his main body, Obie (Fear), both Tanjiro and Kagome will call him out for Playing the Victim Card (similarly to how Kagome joined Tanjiro in calling out Rui for the way he treats his "family").
      • Mitsuri and Sesshomaru will pull a Big Damn Heroes moment and fight against Zohakuten while Tanjiro, Kagome, Sango, and Genya go after Obie.
      • Once Obie seemingly grows bigger and drops the cowardly attitude (with the heroes unaware that Obie actually just formed Urami (Resentment) around himself as last-ditch effort to protect himself), the Demon Slayers will keep fighting until Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Kagome fall off the cliff with the demon.
      • Muichiro tosses Yoriichi's sword to Tanjiro, and when Haganezuka punches Muichiro, Rin will angrily kick Haganezuka in retaliation.
      • Nezuko will kick both Tanjiro and Kagome towards Urami so they can finish the job and stop the demon from killing the swordsmiths. Kagome will use her new Wisteria arrows to slow down Urami long enough for Tanjiro cut through the body and expose Obie, allowing Tanjiro to finish him off similarly to the anime.
      • Once Neuzko overcomes her weakness to sunlight, everyone will be celebrating surviving the Upper Ranks' attacks and Nezuko's survival. Of course, once Haganezuka enters the scene, accuses Tanjiro of breaking Yoriichi's sword while ignoring the obvious fact that the sword is still intact, and chases after Tanjiro, Kagome will once again intervene with a karate chop.
      • When Haganezuka throttles Kotetsu for teasing him, Kagome and Kanamori intervene by tickling him.
  • Everything regarding Inuyasha has been jossed due to the character being Put on a Bus for this arc.

Hashira Training Arc
  • Inuyasha will join Tanjiro in defending Genya from his brother.

Infinity Castle Arc
  • Battles against the Upper Ranks
    • Tanjiro, Kagome, Inuyasha, Sesshomaru, and Giyu vs. Akaza, Kagura, and Kanna
      • Kagura and Kanna, whether they become members of the Twelve Kizuki or not, will join them in the final battle to avenge Rui, Daki, and Gyutaro's deaths. The heroes will call out the two for their Moral Myopia and point out how they don't even care about the families of the victims they've killed, pointing out how those families likely feel about their loved ones being killed, though Kagura and Kanna won't care. The two demons will eventually reawaken their human memories alongside Akaza and willingly die as themselves with the Upper Rank demon, with Kanna's mirror showing the Demon Slayers present the pasts of all three demons (Akaza's flashback as Hakuji was only shown to the reader, so Tanjiro is confused as to why Akaza would end his own life). Tanjiro and Kagome show sympathy for the demons, even if they can't forgive them for the murders they've committed, and it makes them all the more determined to kill Muzan so no one else has to suffer. Inuyasha admits that he can't really feel any satisfaction at their deaths now that he knows just how much they suffered in the past and realizes that Akaza is so much like him.
    • The fight against Doma
      • After Shinobu is consumed, Kanao and Inosuke will be joined by Kouga and Ayame to fight against Doma.
    • The fight against Kokushibo
      • Sango, Kohaku, and Miroku will help Gyomei, Sanemi, Muichiro, and Genya fight the Upper Rank 1 Demon.
  • An Inuyasha character will replace Gyokko as Upper Rank 5, just like how Nakime and Kaigaku will replace Hantengu and Gyutaro & Daki as Upper Ranks 4 and 6 respectively.
  • Kaigaku will be known as "Kaigaku the Black Thunder", similarly to "Kokushibo the Black Moon" since they're both Demon Slayers who became demons and have a title that represents their Breathing Style. Kaigaku also uses black lightning in his fight with Zenitsu.

Sunrise Countdown Arc
  • Kagome and Nezuko will hold off the demonized Tanjiro while Kanao injects the cure into him.
