The Short Teaser with the sword is the intro
The highly detailed sword scrolling through many charecters, leading to the new logo with a highly detailed Finn and Jake fist bump is the intro, or atleast part of the intro of Distant Lands.

BMO Takes place in the far future
Between the Mushroom War and Shermy & Beth, say 500 years. BMO goes on this adventure with Bunny & Slime (real names pending) who are reincarnations of Finn and Jake.
  • Jossed. The episode ends with BMO finding a much younger Finn and Jake, meaning it was a prequel this whole time and Y5 and Olive are unrelated to them.
Martin will be the Big Bad of Distant Lands and take on different personas each episode
  • It's very clear that Martin and Dr. M are the same person, and yet they deliberately never show his face. Why would they neglect to do that unless they're saving the reveal for later? He'll play some sort of role in the remaining episodes; taking on a different guise each time; and won't be fully revealed to be him until "Together Again". As to how Martin could wind up in these different times and places throughout the series, it'd be effect of the Catalyst Comet taking him: forcing him to randomly get transported throughout time and space.
    • Jossed. Mr. M is completely absent from Obsidian, and Mr. M only appears in "BMO" because it's a prequel, and happened before he was even imprisoned in the Citadel.

Obsidian will be set a significant time after the series finale
This'll be in order to contrast with BMO being a prequel.
  • Confirmed. Based on Finn's appearance, Obsidian seems to take place roughly a decade after the finale.

Alternatively Obsidian will be set during Adventure time
Functioning as a midquil
  • Jossed. It takes place after the finale.

The "dragon" from Obsidian is one of GOLB's creations
It was stated in the trailer that music was used to repel it before it grew too powerful. It also seems to be quite destructive and unnatural-looking.
  • Jossed. Larvo has no direct connection to GOLB and actively resonates with Marceline's song "Monster" in the climax.

Some supporting, or even major characters died before the events of Obsidian
Four tombstones could be seen next to Marceline and Princess Bubblegum's house in the trailer, indicating that something happened to the people they knew.
  • It's implied that Jake died during the time skip, as Finn has a tattoo of him and Bronwyn has replaced him as Finn's adventuring partner.

Finn lives in the RV from the end of Obsidian
He seems pretty at home in it

Mo's memory unit will eventually make it's way to the Drift
B-Mo probably aimed so Mo would wind up at the Drift when launching him

In Together Again, Finn will be shown to have developed a rapport with Bronwyn
As a Call-Forward to them apparently being adventuring partners by the time of Obsidian.

Simon is immortal to a degree.
Betty's final wish was "keep Simon safe" and Simon hasn't physically aged when Finn shows up as an adult (granted, it could just be animation-wise they didn't want to show 5-10 years max). One way to avoid the No Immortal Inertia of no Ice Crown could be if that wish to keep him "safe" let him retain being The Ageless from his Ice King days. Since the "keep Simon safe" and his Ice King powers both come from the crown, it could work in a passive way. It might also allow Simon to Betty from Golb assuming the comic's resolution for that isn't canon anymore; if he's The Ageless, he has potentially the rest of the universe to figure out a solution...assuming this doesn't twist itself into something evil like Magic Man, of course.
  • This has some credence. Remember how Simon actually did start aging to death once Bella Noche deactivated the crown and it's immortality? This situation isn't much different beyond how Simon's link to the crown was severed and the crown's memory being reset. There has to be a third party involved. Who else but Betty's wish to keep Simon safe?

Finn and Jake could have become Death together if they had fired off the Kiss of Life together.
  • There doesn't seem to be a rule saying both could have become the new Death if they had fired it off together, but neither knew the right way to point it. The best time to have done it was accidentally when Mr. Fox found them. This would also fit in with the Together Again Arc Words.

Choose Goose really went to Adventure Time Hell for his illegal moisturizer.
And possibly other questionable or outright illegal sales practices.

Finn and Jake's souls will continue to reincarnate together until both naturally ascend to the 50th Dead World.
Even if one soul gets there without the other, whether it's the soul that was Finn or Jake, they'll be drawn back to the other and continue the cycle of reincarnation. Eventually, both will happily settle into DW50 and end it there.

Finn and Jake get reincarnated together as one being
Which would mean Shermy is both Finn and Jake.
