The best part about this Heat Action? Is that it damages both you and your opponent.
The legend of the Dragon of Dojima gets sillier...

The Silly Mod is a Game Mod for Yakuza Kiwami 2, aimed to make the game Denser and Wackier but also adding brand new Memetic Badass content too.

The mod is developed by Totomojang, and it's mostly the same in term of game plot, albeit with some changes done to make the game more hilarious.

The main differences between the normal game and the mod is mostly some of the Heat Actions, that have been completely changed to reference other entries of the Yakuza franchise or popular memes at the time of the mod development.

The mod can be downloaded here.

There are two versions to download: A normal one and a streamable one, the latter replacing everything copyrighted with other copyright-free alternatives.

The mod shows examples of:

  • Cool Board: During one of the scripted battles, Kiryu is forced to use one and fight with it.
  • Denser and Wackier: The whole purpose of the mod in the first place. The majority of the Heat Actions are hilarious, such as Kiryu showing a Fumo, an Among Us Crewmate, or Subaru duck, the last one even having Kiryu squat with sunglasses while smoking a sigarette.
    • How about seeing an Heat Action of Kiryu pulling up a gun and kill someone. Hold on, that's not something from him? Well, a variation of the animation will be a fake out where the entire heat action will be covered by various images on screen due to the budget apparently running out. And the cherry on top is a rickroll followed by a sound that translated on the spectrogram will show Mona Lisa with Majima face on it.
    • Another funny Heat Action is probably the more common one you'll get, being a move where Kiryu would grab his opponent with his ass, falling in a... Questionable way. A variation of the scene will cause Saul Goodman to appear.
  • Flipping the Bird: The first fight against Ryuji Goda will result in a surprise final Heat Action where Kiryu ends up flipping off the bird to him after being rudely insulted for asking money. Cue the Credits Gag.
  • Memetic Badass: Kiryu, even more than normal. Not only he gets to ride a skate and kick ass, but he somehow learned the Hokuto Shinken, and during the start of the game he gets to use it againts a random enemy, even saying the iconic line "You Are Already Dead". So much for a "no killing" rule.
  • Shout-Out:
    • During a cutscene at the start of the game againts some random Town Punks, a frame-by-frame recreation of the very first announcement trailer of Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise will play, now being extended to fit better with the cutscene (as Kiryu now punches the thug in the face before using the technique, to explain how he gets blood in the forehead). The victim that suffers the yet unknown fate is even the same exact one that appears in the original trailer.
    • The majority of the soundtrack and sound effects are now from the Touhou Project franchise, with specific remixes that still fits well with the game. The same can also be said for the amount of Fumos and the renamed "Miko Borgar" food chain, referencing the Touhou fandom.
    • During Ryuji Goda first fight, "Don't Stay" from Linkin Park will play. Strangely, the song fits extremely well with the fight, and only gives fuel to old-school AMV tributes. It's not even the first song you'll end up encountering from that group.
    • One of the possible Heat Actions Kiryu can perform is Jamiroquai's Virtual Insanity.
    • A type of enemy you will encounter is called "Genshin fans", being an obvious Take That! at that community.
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential: Compared to base Yakuza, even more. You can now fully embrace the "John Yakuza" experience and shoot people with a gun during a Heat Action, or utilize a special technique from another series entirely and blow some random thug head during a cutscene.
