The Final Day is coming. Losing someone... dear to you, will always make our life hell for a long time. The pain can heal, new memories can be crafted, but scars, remain. This is a story about how Athena Cykes, the young attorney, started to lose Everything, and how she deals with it... Or tries to.

Turnabout of the Final Day is a fan-made work of the Ace Attorney series. It was made by Super legenda using the Ace Attorney Online trial editor, as an entry for the trial competition Shelter In Place hosted on the website.

Warning

This fancase contains jumpscares and pretty unsettling moments.

And also touches on certain topics of mental health.. that could make people quite uncomfortable, like isolation and trauma.

This case also happens after the events of Duel Destinies, and contains heavy spoilers of it.

This fan case provides examples of:

  • Anthropomorphic Personification: The murderer, at least as we see him, is the representation of Athena's growing insanity.
  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: The last part of the case takes pace in Athena's mind as she confronts the darker parts of herself in a mental courtroom.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Phoenix and Apollo are still dead. But Athena and Trucy are recovering from the trauma of their deaths and are able to see the two of them again by heading for the Kingdom of Khura'in.
  • Cute Kitten: Athena and Trucy's new pet cat, Mr. Kitty, whom both of them fawn over at various points in the case.
  • Death by Adaptation: Phoenix and Apollo are both shot dead in the case's opening.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: The murderer never physically appears, whenever he does, he's just a hallucination of Athena's. But he's the one who killed Phoenix and Apollo and is responsible for the situation Athena and Trucy are in, as well as Athena's frayed mental state.
  • No Name Given: We never find out the name of the murderer. His name is said on the news report that shows the deaths of Phoenix and Apollo, but Athena hates him so much that she blocks it out.
