The Prestige Chain is an Idle Game made in The Modding Tree by pg132 released in 2020. In it, you go through a linear tree, where each new layer usually resets the previous one. You often also have to reset your tiers when you unlock a new one. It is available on Githack.

Compare to The Tree of Nerfs, another linear TMT game that offers less content and is more parodic in nature.

This game provides examples of:

  • Achievement System: here is an achievements tab in the top-right corner. Achievements are based on linear game goals (so you're likely to earn them in the intended order), with the first one named "One", second being "Two", and so on.
  • Alphabetical Theme Naming: The names of the resources are in alphabetical order: amoebas -> bacteria -> circles -> doodles etc. The names of every upgrade and challenge in each node also starts with the letter that corresponds to its name.
  • Challenge Run: The bacteria layer and later ones have challenges which decrease production or effects of certain buyables and have you reach a certain point quota.
  • Cooldown: The amoeba layer has a two-second cooldown for prestigeing, while later layers have a five-second one.
  • Diminishing Returns for Balance: Each challenge completion in the Goals tab has the reward for each completion go down as you earn more tokens (the ones involving additional levels for buyables in particular are hardcapped), incentivicing you to get a move on once you complete enough of them.
  • Export Save: You can the export the 18KB+ savefile into the clipboard and paste it into a window that pops up.
  • LOL, 69: The clickable button in the achievements tab shows "nice" when it's at 69.
