Super Cane Magic ZERO - Legend of the Cane Cane is an Action RPG developed by italian comic book artist Simone "Sio" Albrigi and independent video game studio Studio Evil.

The planetoid of WOTF has fallen into chaos: after the death of his master, Cake the Wizard, the dog AAAH! mysteriously became magic and started launching random and unpredictable spells with each bark!

It's up to the player to fix this mess and save the world!

Super Cane Magic ZERO contains examples of:

  • Abnormal Ammo: The guns obtainable in Minestronya, which are also the same that the carrot-men enemies use, shoot exploding carrots.
  • Amnesiac Hero: The player character starts the game by crashing in the world of WOTF from the sky like a meteor. Neither they nor the player know anything of his life prior to this event.
  • Burn the Undead: As one NPC helpfully points out, undead monsters such as skeletons or mummies take double damage from fire attacks.
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: Your skill tree is entirely powered by this trope: once someone tells you something that you can believe in, you gain a new skill tree in which you can spend points to believe in things, which increases your stats or causes you to gain a specific ability.
    • The ordinary citizens of WOTF can also participate in this trope: on one occasion, you get past a snowslide by listening to a Conspiracy Theorist and spreading the belief that the snowslide isn't real in the nearby village, which of course causes the obstacle to completely disappear.
  • Colony Drop: One of the disasters caused by the titular magic dog is the fall of many "meteors of canine magic" onto the land.
  • Convection, Schmonvection: Standing right next to (or, with the right power-up, even walking directly over) a lake of lava is completely fine, you can only get hurt by it if you swim in it.
  • Cyclops: Aliens only have one eye. Bizarrely, judging by their talking and eating animations, this eye somehow doubles as a mouth.
  • Defeat Equals Explosion: All enemies explode upon defeat. The explosion of certain enemies, like the Fire People, isn't just for show and can actually damage you and the other monsters.
  • Dem Bones: A common type of monster found in the Crypt.
  • Energy Weapon: Weapons that deal "Energy"-type damage are this.
  • Everything Trying to Kill You: Notable examples of the game's various monsters include a floating parcel that shoots laser beams, living snowmen, living ice cubes on wheels and aggressive vegetable people.
  • Extreme Omnivore: If you can pick up an object, you can also eat it. That said, it's not recommended to eat bombs or other inedible things.
    • Though there is a potion that can make you gain health from everything for a short time.
  • Flat World: The game is set in what is referred to as a "planetoid": a roughly flat plane with an irregular edge.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: You can throw fainted enemies, damaging them and any target with a health bar
  • Hailfire Peaks: The Laser Volcano is mostly cold and snowy, but with some pools of lava here and there. Near its top, the Laser Monastery adds lasers and Energy Weapons to the ice theme. This is all Justified by the game's backstory, which states that the Laser Volcano used to be all hot and full of lava and laser energy before one of the Magic Dog's spells caused it to almost completely freeze over.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: Played for Laughs. After getting apprehended by the police at the start of the game the player character is questioned about their name only to realize that they forgot their identity, so they decide to make up a name on the fly. However, instead of a standard keyboard the game pulls up a strange custom keyboard where most keys have random syllables instead of letters, forcing you to choose a very silly name for your character.
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: You can eat a whole chicken to regain health in an instant.
  • Ice Magic Is Water: Inverted: the game only has the Ice element, and the damage type of water-based weapons is Ice.
  • Infinity +1 Element: Very few, if any, monsters seem to have a resistance to the "Energy" element, while on the other hand there are many monsters that are weak to (or can only be hurt by) it. It is also the hardest element to acquire and the one which tends to utilize the most Mana for each attack.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: The slopes of the Laser Volcano are inhabited by actual Ninja Pirates.
  • The Reveal: Not only Cake the Wizard is alive, in the form of Keiko, but also the default player characters used to be Zero, the wizard’s second dog who got transformed into four amnesiac humans and transported on the asteroid they fell off by AAAH!, who got magic powers by sheer force of grief.
