Metal Gear Solid Mobile is an action-stealth game developed by Ideaworks3D and published by Konami for mobile phones and Nokia N-Gage in 2008. The story takes place between Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty where Solid Snake infiltrate a base which has Metal Gear with support from Otacon

Metal Gear Solid Mobile provides examples of:

  • Achievement Mockery: The N-Gage version has achievements for getting spotted too much, playing for too long and calling Otacon too much
  • All Just a Dream: Near the end, it is revealed that the whole thing is simulation, and Otacon is an AI, and the only way to break free of it is to defeat the final boss
  • Breather Level: Midway through the game, you will encounter laser-triggered bombs and you have to shoot the control boxes, the problem is your SOCOM gun isn't suppressed and you may alert enemies. While MGS2 had the bombs located far enough from guards, the developers of this games instead removed the guards altogether which kills the idea of Stealth, and since most of the areas will have these bombs, expect the second half of the game to be walk in the park.
  • Call-Back: The game is literally filled with it (destroying switches with Nikita missiles... Check, blowing a wall with C4... Check, hiding under table to trick the guard into opening the cell door... Check)
  • Deadpan Snarker: Snake is notably more sarcastic in this entry than the other games
Snake: Take your time, it's not like we are on deadline. Hell, Check your email while you're at it.
Otacon: Snake, are you being sarcastic?. You know sarcasm is the basiest form of humor
  • Mission-Pack Sequel: The game is merely a Metal Gear Solid 2 demake when it comes to gameplay. However, it adopt the soundtrack and some assets from the first game
  • Scrappy Mechanic: Chameleon Camouflage System. It functions similar to Octocamo from MGS4 but as cool as it sounds, it's not really necessary since the guards are short-sighted and don't spot you unless you get in their vision cones.
