Little Medusa is a 2017 homebrew Puzzle game by Mega Cat studios.
The game stars Artemiza, a Little Olympian, and a young and vain goddess-to-be and successor to Zeus' throne. However, the spiteful God Fiora transforms her into a gorgon. Fiora tricks Zeus and the Gods into thinking Artemiza has disappeared, and while they are distracted, frees the imprisoned Titans, captures the other Little Olympians and claims Zeus' throne as her own. It's up to Artemiza, as little medusa, to find her way back to reclaim Mount Olympus and stop Fiora's plot.
The game is a top down action puzzle game. The goal of each level to collect every star. Artemiza can accomplish this by using her gorgon powers to freeze enemies into stone and pushing them into the water to create pathways that will allow her access to the prizes. Can you help Little Medusa rescue her friends and reclaim Mount Olympus?
A PC remake was announced in 2021 for the PC via Steam.
This game contains examples of:
- Break the Haughty: Artemiza was extremely vain and haughty before being transformed into Little Medusa.
- Cute Monster Girl: Our heroine as Little Medusa hits all the notes. Complete with Cute Little Fangs, Blush Sticker and her cute snake hair.
- Forced Transformation: Artemiza is turned into a Gorgon by the evil Fiora.
- Gorgeous Gorgon: Artemiza may not like her appearance, but little Medusa is absolutely adorable for a Gorgon.
- Hot Goddess: Artemiza is quite cute and very much aware of it, because she is extremely vain. Becoming Little Medusa doesn't change this much.
- Jerkass Gods: Fiora, the Goddess of Strife and Spite, curses Artemiza into becoming a Gorgon as revenge against Zeus and the other Gods.
- Narcissist: Before Artemiza was changed into a Gorgon, she was very high on herself and vain. Being Zeus' successor to the throne only popped up her ego. Needless to say, spending time as a Gorgon changes her perspective by the end.
- One-Hit-Point Wonder: Enemies take you out in one hit. The PC version however, adds a Life Meter.
- Revenge: Fiora seeks revenge against Zeus because he killed her husband and robbed her of a family. The Titans more of less have the same motivation against the Gods for being imprisoned.
- Taken for Granite: Being a gorgon, this is Little Medusa's signature ability. She can freeze enemies and push them around.
