Ready for round two?

Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice is a video game developed by the German developer Crazy Bunch and published by Assemble Entertainment for Steam in 2020, and on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in 2021. It's the tenth installment in the Leisure Suit Larry series.

Following the events of Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don't Dry, El Rey wants to get Larry married with his daughter, who is the second most beautiful woman in Cancum. Larry ends up on Kalau islands and begins to search for Faith who got separated from him.

Meanwhile, Prune has been put under new management, with Mr. Wang becoming the new boss and Nari becoming the technical director. He wants to get the self-learning algorithm and use it to make a product even greater than PiPhones.

This game provides examples of:

  • All for Nothing: Near the end, Nari and the Resistance formulate a plan to stop Wang, namely tricking the Pi-bot into having sex with another Pi-Bot carrying a sexually-transmittable virus to eliminate her threat, and Larry has to procure all the elements. The abysmal results and Pi-bot's antivirus firewall causes the plan to fail on the spot, and Larry ultimately resolves the situation just by having sex with the Pi-bot.
  • Ambiguously Bi: Nari (who dated Larry in the previous game) mentions she worked a lot on the Pi-bot gynoids' sexual abilities. During the climax, when Pi-bot gives her a french kiss she faints with swirly eyes and a satisfied smirk.
  • Art Shift: Near the end of the game, the graphics shift to the original EGA of the first game.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: At certain points in the game, Pi will ask Larry his perspective on the perfect day. This comes into play during the final moments of gameplay, as Larry is stuck in her simulation of his perfect day.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: This is basically the reason Faith came back to help Larry, and what also helped him win her heart.
  • Big Bad: Wang, the new CEO of Prune.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Faith hacked into Pi's simulation to help Larry escape.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Yes, Larry and Faith finally get hitched and are about to have a happy life together, but Pi was killed in order to save the world from Wang's Pi-Bots.
  • Bland-Name Product: Even more of these appear, such as Clitcoin (Bitcoin)
  • But Now I Must Go: Just before Larry goes with Nari to face Wang, Faith tells Larry this, and leaves to return to her Cannibal Tribe. She returns to help Larry escape Pi's simulation, though.
  • Call-Back: While it is a sequel, the game retakes many elements from the previous game, such as:
    • Lefty is encountered at the beginning of the game, and reappears near the end under an alias.
    • Larry once again encounters Sister Tuck and has to give her a "cavity search". She also officiates Larry's marriage with Faith.
    • Once again, Larry has to infiltrate the Prune Tower.
    • Near the end of the game you run into BJ in a cage. Though this time you have to let him out.
    • An Instacrap cutscene features a lesbian kiss, though the context is more serious this time.
    • There's a callback to the original game's "boss key" feature that displayed a spreadsheet.
  • Cannibal Tribe: One of the many adversaries standing in Larry's way. Faith is revealed to actually be the Queen of the tribe. Turns out, their lesbianism and cannibalism are a result of misinterpreting quotes from their half-destroyed Bible.
  • Captain Morgan Pose: LeCuck, the leader of the pirate-themed cryptominers, is normally in this pose.
  • Carpet of Virility: Otis's belly is covered by a massive carpet of bushy black hairs. So much that Larry has to use pliers to collect one.
  • Character Development: Surprisingly, Larry himself. He's apparently undergone 'sensitivity training' during his trek into the twenty-first century. And he shows genuine emotion when Pi is ultimately destroyed in the end.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Larry fails to understand who Yanmei is and just labels her as a stalker.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Kip and his "brothers" (always him, apparently capable of Offscreen Teleportation). An entry in the Volcano KGB lair implies that he was the victim of a brain-altering device.
  • The Dragon: Wang's assassin assistant, Yanmei, though it's highly implied she's just a mercenary rather than a loyal supporter.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After all Larry went through in the previous game and this one, he finally gets married to Faith.
  • Exposition Fairy: El Rey can recap the events that occurred in the previous game, if the player wishes to.
  • Favors for the Sexy: Averted when Bobbi decides to immediately have sex with Larry in her office upon meeting, causing Larry to become suspicious, as he always had to do sidequests before the sex. She still tells Larry he has to pay the fine to leave the island.
  • Food Songs Are Funny: Larry can ask El Rey to sing a song about alpacas, which quickly mentions how they're tasty as sausage and yummy when grilled. It's fairly ridiculous and Larry gets hungry when listening.
  • The Ghost: El Rey's daughter, since it's considered bad luck to see the bride too soon. At the end of the game, El Rey admits she ran away even before Larry left the island and he was planning to put on a cardboard cutout of her in her place.
  • Good Colors, Evil Colors: Under Faith and BJ's management, Prune's headquarters had a mostly blue/violet coloration. With Wang at the helm, the area is under red tints and decorations.
  • Grand Finale: Of the Wet Dreams saga, and quite possibly, the franchise as a whole.
  • Hidden in Plain Sight: When in Yanmei's submarine base, Larry can hide in front of his cardboard cutout. If Yanmei thinks Larry hid in the iron maiden (half and half chances), she won't notice the real Larry at all.
  • I Love the Dead: In what's probably the weirdest encounter in the series, Larry goes in a near-death state to become a ghost and have sex with the ghost of Sister Superior Frigid to let her pass on.
  • Implausible Deniability: Otis claims to be one of the cannibal amazons despite his obvious gender. When Larry points out his member, Otis claims it's just a pimple. A very long pimple.
  • La Résistance: Realizing that Wang's project is incredibly dangerous, Nari organizes one consisting in her, the unseen cop, Lefty (as El Commandante) and Sister Tuck.
  • Jerkass: Lewis, the pianist/comedian in Kalaua'a's hotel. Not helped by the fact that all his jokes are politically incorrect.
  • Karmic Death: The perverted, piggish Wang tries to use the Pi-Bots to take over the world. He ends up trying the Pi-bot's fellatio function and is drained to death.
  • Kavorka Man: Unusually for the series, in this game Larry gets laid, but not as much as in the other titles, as he's still looking for Faith after all.
  • Killed Off for Real: Pi was forcibly connected to the Prune servers, which powers up Wang's Pi-Bots. Shutting down the factory results in her irreversible death, despite Larry's desperate pleas to Nari and Faith to bring her back. Also, Yanmei (who, as prophesized, is killed when Larry's KGB helicopter drops on her) and Wang (who's fellated to death by Pi-Bot)
  • Lady in Red: Yanmei's disguise while in the hotel. Also, the deadly Pi-bots.
  • Lampshade Hanging: When Bobbi tells Larry she wants to have sex with him seconds after meeting him, Larry incredulously quotes all those times where he had to do sidequests to get laid.
  • Large Ham: Larry's sure phoning it in, as the Pi-Bot approaches him to 'suck him dry.' The Eleventh Doctor would be proud.
Larry: So come on then! Take my libido! But I hope you've got a big appetite, because I have lived a long life, and I have seen a few things! Take it aaalll, baby! HAVE IT! You have it all!!!
  • Mistaken for Badass: Yanmei spends the entire game believing that Larry is an incredibly skilled and talented secret agent from an unknown nation.
  • Murderous Thighs: How Yanmei kills Larry is she catches him on her submarine.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • The game could be seen a long nod to the second game of the series. Doctor Nono (who has a secret base in a volcano and is deathly afraid of pianos) is implied to be a miraculously alive Doctor Nonookie. And then, there's also the fact that the Pi-Bot is described by Wang as a "reproduction of a famous pianist," which is a reference to Passionate Patti.
    • The "Cavern of Cosmic Cognition" is one to the proposed-but-never-made LSL8 game, Lust in Space. The spaceship is just filled with cloning pods, with the two at the entrance being the original Larry's skeleton (cartoonish form and all) with the one beside it having a gestating clone of him in it.
  • Nemean Skinning: The "cannilesbians" all wear the half-skull and tails of an animal on them. Faith has a lion, Wendi a monitor lizard and the other two have a crocodile and a hornbill.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Larry's attempts to find Faith and restore her memory end with Pi, now carrying the self-learning algorithm, delivered to Wang, just like the latter wanted.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Wang looks a lot like PSY and at one point dances suspiciously like "Gangnam Style".
  • Nuns Are Spooky: The cannibals are troubled by the ghost of the Sister Superior Frigid, who appear to admonish them when they try to do naughty things. Larry has to get rid of the ghost to get an audience with their Queen, Faith.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Once Larry realizes the real threat of Wang's plans, along with Pi being forcefully taken away from him, he drops his promiscuous nature to help Faith, Nari, and the Resistance with their plan to thwart Wang.
  • Off with His Head!: When Larry tells El Rey he lost the key, El Rey thinks he'd like Larry to lose his head, but then decides he'd rather not have his daughter marry a headless gringo.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: The dialogue options the player has for when Larry wakes up from Pi's simulation suggests that he'd be back to his usual self, but no matter which choice you pick, he'll always express sadness that he had to destroy Pi.
  • Out with a Bang: Larry coaxes Wang into trying the Pi-Bot's fellatio routine, and he ends up shriveled to death by her.
  • Red Shirt: One of the LARP nerds is actually named as such and cosplay as a redshirt. He ends up dropped in a trapdoor, injured and threatened by badgers.
  • Sex Bot: The Pi-bot's main use, according to Wang. Unfortunately, the prototype also proves deadly.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The title is an obvious one to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
    • One of the LARP Nerds is a walking, barely-disguised homage to Roger Wilco, and another one is known as "Red Shirt", who, despite having the forehead ridges of a Klingon and the infamous Starfleet uniform of expendability, has the long ears and voice of Yoda.
    • When Larry examines Wang's mummified remains he comments that "he chose poorly".
    • Larry's Large Ham moment as he comes face-to-face with the Pi-Bot is enough to give the Eleventh Doctor a run for his money.
    • The cannibals' prisoner Swingle is a parody of Tingle.
    • There's enough Monkey Island references to make you wonder if Larry wandered into that Caribbean by accident:
      • Bobbi's last name is Marley and she's the island's governor.
      • There's a painting of a three-headed monkey in her office.
      • The bar by the pool is called the Scum Bar (with one "M", though).
      • The leader of the pirate-themed cryptominers is named LeCuck.
      • In the Clitcoin cave, the plaque on the ship in the bottle says "The swordmistress of Mêléebido Island".
      • At one point Larry has to make a voodoo recipe that is almost the same as a similar puzzle in LeChuck's Revenge. The bag he uses is identical.
    • Larry finds a green tentacle in a hotel room. If you click for its description, he says that you could conquer a very small world with that.
    • There are two adjacent screens in Yanmei's submarine, one of which is labelled Mr. Coffee and the other Mr. Radar.
    • In the Darknet, when asked what he'll be using to pay for an item, Larry can suggest bottle caps.
    • During the Wedding Finale, Larry turns to the side and sees two ghostly alpacas bowing to him and then the ghost of Obi-Wan giving him a nod.
  • Taking the Bullet: Near the end, as the Pi-bot slides towards Larry Nari pushes him out of the way, getting grabbed in his place and french-kissed into a blissful stupor.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Larry is at his most successful at getting women in this game. He has sex multiple times and unlike Love for Sail it doesn't come back to bite him in the ass.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: Swingley. There's no abuse he can take without getting aroused by it, as Otis mentioned when he tried to suffocate him.
  • Tropical Island Adventure: Most of the game takes place on the Kalau islands, with plenty of jungles and tropical landscapes.
  • Visual Pun: The Darknet... is literally a black-colored fishing net placed in a room to catch the falling products delivered to Larry. Also, the Blockchain is... a chain of blocks.
  • Wedding Finale: After saving the world, and escaping Pi's simulation, Larry and Faith decide to get married. And it actually works out for everyone involved!
  • Yellow Peril: The main antagonists of this game are Wang, the perverted boss of Prune, and the North Korean assassin Yanmei.
