"Maddie goes on a journey through the mind & memories of one that are not her own. An impressionistic map that should be suitably challenging for advanced players of Celeste."
— Description of the main map

Glyph is a Game Mod of Celeste. It was made by Marshall H, who later created Gate To The Stars, and released on May 1, 2020. The mod includes an original chapter, four "Season-Sides" (roughly equivalent to B-sides), and a final challenge known as the "Void-Side". It is considered one of the premier Celeste mods for its unique season-switching mechanic, as well as almost fifty minutes of original music. At the time of this writing, it has over 307,000 views on GameBanana, and received the "Best of the Banana" award on May 4, 2020.

Glyph can be downloaded here.

Glyph contains examples of:

  • Brutal Bonus Level: Think this mod ends with the Void-Side? You thought wrong, because that level contains a hidden cassette tape. Grabbing it unlocks the much harder Void-Side B-side.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each season in the Four-Seasons Level is color-coded, and you'll be able to tell the season by paying attention to which color of portal you're entering.
    • Spring is pink, and the level scenery is covered in bright pink cherry blossoms.
    • Summer is red, and the level scenery is lit by the hot orange sun to the point where you're likely to assume that all the orange represents Fall instead.
    • Fall is yellow, and the level scenery is full of frail, crumbling platforms. (Perhaps they're made of dead leaves?)
    • Winter is blue, and the level scenery becomes covered in ice and snow.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: Some portions of Glyph take place in a rainy city that's rendered completely in black and white.
  • Four-Seasons Level: The central premise of the mod's main chapter, the eponymous "Glyph". You switch between seasons by touching portals found throughout the level, which is color-coded to a specific season. Each of the main chapter's four seasons are explored in more depth in their own levels, the "Season-Sides".
  • The Very Definitely Final Dungeon: Your reward for clearing all four Season-Sides is the Void-Side, which takes the dark "void" area from the very beginning of the map and extends it out into an extra-challenging map. Finding the hidden cassette tape in this level unlocks the Void-Side's B-side.
  • X Meets Y: The creator describes the mod as drawing inspiration from other games, such as Fez and Hyper Light Drifter, both of which influenced the soundtrack.
