Gate to the Stars is a Game Mod of Celeste created by Marshall H, the creator and composer of Glyph. It was released on June 1st, 2021, and adds two new chapters — "Impossible Visitors" and "Nameless Pillars" — to the game, along with a few pieces of original soundtrack. Despite its short length, it is one of the most popular and polished Celeste mods, with more than 66,000 views at the time of this writing. It received a "Best of the Banana" award on June 4, 2021, three days after its release.

It can be downloaded here.

Gate to the Stars provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Challenge Run: Players who can beat each chapter without turning Madeline's hair blue will be able to claim a winged Golden Strawberry at the end.
  • Decomposite Character: A weird video game level example. Both chapters of Gate to the Stars revolve around a different mechanic used in Celeste's Golden Ridge — Impossible Visitors uses the moving blocks and takes them to new heights by adding blocks that change direction when they touch an arrow outline, while Nameless Pillars batters Madeline with wind throughout the level.
  • Gusty Glade: Similar to Chapter 4 (Golden Ridge) of the base game, the second chapter, Nameless Pillars, involves some sections with wind blowing Madeline in certain directions.
  • Level in Reverse: To claim the hidden Moon Berry in Nameless Pillars, you need to pass the Crystal Heart at the level goal to hit a switch that will move all of the blocks with a double diamond icon printed on them. By backtracking through the entire chapter (helped by some shortcuts that the blocks opened up) and then past the very first screen of the level to the right, you'll come to a secret room blocked off behind one last double diamond-marked block that hides the Moon Berry.
  • Level in the Clouds: The first chapter, Impossible Visitors, takes place in a heavenly, temple-like garden in the sky. Solid Clouds abound.
  • Missing Secret: When you select your save file while playing this mod, it'll have blank spaces at the top reserved for each chapter's B-side cassette. But neither chapter has a cassette in it, so those spaces serve no purpose at all.
  • No Plot? No Problem!: There's no story to be had here. Just enjoy the gameplay, soundtrack, and atmosphere.
  • Offscreen Start Bonus: If you head to the right in Nameless Pillars instead of left, you'll eventually come to a block marked with a double diamond that doesn't seem to do anything. Make it all the way to the end of the level, touch the double diamond switch, and return to this spot, and the block will be floating in the air. Go into the divot in the floor it left behind to grab the Moon Berry.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Pressing a button that glows purple in Nameless Pillars will magically recharge Madeline's dash, similar to when she touches a stamina crystal.
  • Saharan Shipwreck: The scenery of Nameless Pillars has a few shipwrecks littered among the bleak dunes.
  • Shifting Sand Land: Nameless Pillars, the second chapter, takes place in a dusty desert interspersed here and there with bits of old ruins covered in spikes.
