Friday Night Foundation contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: Boyfriend in the vanilla game is merely a Fearless Fool with respectable rapping skills who survives against dangerous enemies through dumb luck. Here, his ability to engage with anyone in rap battles, including many dangerous SCPs, and effectively get out of harm with this method has designated him an SCP by the Foundation.
  • The Cameo:
    • In the same vein as The Tricky Mod with its main menu, one SCP character among many will appear on the main menu screen, complete with their own theme music.
    • Little Man appears as a doodle on the back of SCP-049’s clipboard.
  • Domain Holder: SCP-106 has absolute control over his pocket dimension and those he pulls into it. In game, he pulls Boyfriend into it halfway through his song, and being in there slowly drains the health meter.
  • Easter Egg: Certain songs are accessed through this method:
    • To access "Me", simply input the numbers "2, 5, 2, 1" on the main menu to summon SCP-2521, as directly mentioning its existence abducts those who do so, signified by its tentacles wrapping the screen.
    • At complete random, a transparent silhouette of TheRubber appears on the main menu screen. Clicking on the shadow-y figure unlocks TheRubber's song "Explanation" in Freeplay.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Creative liberties regarding how the SCPs work were taken for the sake of how certain rap battles play out and the scaling of difficulty. SCP-049's Touch of Death is Zig-Zagged. Agent Sammy gets killed and is turned into an SCP-049-2 instance like the source. Boyfriend meanwhile, can survive it via HP to One if 49's gimmick arrow is hit while at full health, otherwise it will kill him.
  • Gender Bender: SCP-173, normally a genderless being referred to with “it” pronouns, is a female in the mod.
  • HP to One: "Vivisection" features gimmick arrows that'll reduce Boyfriend's health to being dangerously close to a Game Over if hit.
  • Necromancer: SCP-049 can re-animate those he has 'cured' as SCP-049-2 instances. Agent Sammy was turned into one of these off-screen.
  • The Many Deaths of You: Boyfriend experiences many ways to die than simply getting blueballed, courtesy of the respective cast, mostly SCPs. Including:
    • Neck Snap by SCP-173.
    • Falling over stiff upon getting shot by Agent Sammy.
    • Getting touched by SCP-049 to keel over dead with cross eyes.
    • Sliced by the knife of D-Class Valerie across his entire body, complete with his blueballs falling off.
    • Two ways to SCP-106 depending on if it happens in the first or second half of their song(s), when Boyfriend gets teleported into his dimension in the latter half.
      • In the first half, he gets whisked away into the dimension to never be seen again, leaving only his microphone.
      • In the second half, he melts from 106's corrosive liquid to leave nothing but his blueballs.
    • Smash Cuts to TheRubber's animation of waking up to piss that leads to Boyfriend's demise.
TheRubber: The story is simple. I woke up, went to the bathroom to pee, and peed so hard I destroyed- [cue BF's perfectly cut scream of pain as he gets overwhelmed]
  • Noodle Incident: Considering the fact that Boyfriend and Girlfriend start off as D-Class personnel; wearing an orange jumpsuit with the Foundation logo, this implies they've either been convicted of a serious crime to make them death-row inmates, or they're just very unlucky and the Foundation needed expendable resources in duress.
  • Painting the Medium: SCP-2521's nature as an "info-hazard" makes it hard to discuss in the typical sense, due to it taking any written info about it and kidnapping anybody who speaks of it, with images about it being the only exception. With the only way to encounter and unlock its song "Me" by typing in "2521", their only other presence in the mod is by one of the many cover art for the main menu. The text for the usual stats in the song are even depicted in morse code.
  • Touch of Death: SCP-049’s 'cure', which instantly kills anyone he touches. These manifest in game as notes that resemble hands, which strangely invoke HP to One if Boyfriend is at max health, but it will result in a Game Over if his health is any lower.
  • Zero-Effort Boss: Playtime is straight up impossible to lose, as SCP-999 will decrease its own health while singing and even if the player ends up missing enough notes to normally die, they just get healed back up to half health, which has no limit to how many times it can occur.
