Friday Doge Funkin' (also known as VS Doge and Funky Doge Friday! [FULL WEEK]) is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod created by ArfieCat. Based on the Dogelore webcomics popularized on Reddit, members of the r/dogelore community banded together to work on a Friday Night Funkin' mod based on the varied and colorful characters, such as the wacky and uncharacteristic Doge and the fire truck & moster trucksic -loving Walter.

Le epic tropes have arrived.

  • Battle Amongst the Flames: For Walter's third song, the stadium they are singing at is completely lit on fire.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Walter may be a fire-truck-loving dog with a silly unflinching face and wears fire truck shoes, but he is a force to be reckoned with that unleashes fast songs with quick strings of notes, can somehow light entire stadiums on fire, and he has the ability to push Boyfriend's health down to near zero.
  • Friendly Enemy: Doge respects Boyfriend's devotion and decides to back off despite being hired by Daddy Dearest and instead wants to be friends.
  • Game Mod: A Friday Night Funkin' mod based on the Reddit Dogelore comics and even features a direct link to the subreddit's main page from the in-game menu.
  • Giving Someone the Pointer Finger: In the brief cutscene before Walter's 3rd song, the camera dramatically zooms in on him as he aggressively points at Boyfriend and does a cut throat gesture.
  • He-Man Woman Hater: Downplayed. For some odd reason, Walter does not want to talk to women, but it's never explained why or if it's just out of hatred or pure indifference.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Doge at first wants to replace Boyfriend's place for receiving Girlfriend's undivided love and attention but then he reveals he was hired to do so and doesn't wanna go through with it anymore because he respects Boyfriend.
  • HP to One: Walter unleashes a loud scream that reduces Boyfriend's health down to near death, even if your side of the bar was all the way to the left.
  • Implied Death Threat: Walter points at Boyfriend and a finger across his neck implying Boyfriend is "dead meat" and that he is serious about winning.
  • Interface Screw: Walter unleashes a powerful screech that reduces Boyfriend's health to nearly zero.
  • Last Ditch Move: Walter unleashes one final attack at the end of his third song when you think the song is finally over.
  • Lighter and Softer: Considering the webcomics have varied amounts of Black Comedy and some comics can be Darker and Edgier than others, this mod is relatively softer with hardly any profanity, violence, or raunchy themes.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Doge and Walter aren't bad they were just hired to get rid of Boyfriend and while Doge doesn't seem to run any risks by abandoning his mission, Walter apparently has his life, a record deal, and a nice truck at risk.
  • Sensory Abuse: Walter unleashes a loud string of notes that pushes the Boyfriend's health back.
  • Stop and Go: "all bark, no bite" has an ending that fakes you out where it sounds like the song is over but then it quickly picks back up as if nothing happened.
  • Straw Misogynist: Played for Laughs. When Girlfriend expresses sympathy for Walter's plight he simply retorts he "doesn't talk to women".
  • Third-Person Person: Walter refers to himself in third person.
