Cold Truth is an "social strand" game made by WaddeIsG on Roblox where you crash your snowcat in the Antarctic where you find yourself in the middle of an abandoned research center.

While escaping the abandoned area is your main objective, you can find notes and tapes that allow you to discover the truth about what happened over there.

You can play the game over here.

This Game contains examples of:

  • Abandoned Area: The game takes place in the West Research Facility.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Niell's response to the scientists stealing his food was to blow up the drill, killing everyone involved.
  • Fatal Family Photo: Dash Batt's notes contains a photo of his wife, Heather and his children, and is one of the dead counted at the West Research Facility.
  • Hope Spot: One of the tapes reveals that a drill was built in an attempt to escape the research center. However, Niell blows up the drill, preventing any chance of escaping (not like it was even successful in the first place due to the Root Acid)
  • Late to the Tragedy: By the time you arrive over at the West Research Facility, everyone is dead.
  • Multiple Endings: Depends on whether you touch the Root Acid or not by the time you repair the drill and escape:
    • The Cold Truth: You managed to escape without touching any Root Acid, and obtained the truth behind what happened at the research center.
    • When Chaos Is Fate: You managed to escape, but you were infected with Root Acid.
  • I Regret Nothing: Niell's tape indicates that he never regretted his actions for blowing up the drill due to Tom and the scientists raiding his food storage.
  • Snow Means Death: Everyone is dead, probably due to Niell's machinations, the Root Acid, or both, and they occurred at the Antarctic. It's implied you also die from the Root Acid at the When Chaos Is Fate ending.
  • Straw Nihilist: Niell is implied to be this in his conversation with Tom, possibly made even worse since Tom decided to raid his food storage.
  • Story Breadcrumbs: Most of the info can be gathered by looking at the notes and listening to the tapes.
  • Tainted Veins: One of the signs that a person is infected with the Root Acid, if the When Chaos is Fate ending is of any indication.
  • This Is a Drill: The scientists at the West Research Facility built a drill in an attempt to escape, but Niell blew it up. You later repair the drill and escape.
  • Typhoid Mary: It's implied that ALL of the scientists were infected with the Root Acid, with Alica being one of the first infectees.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Had Tom not decided to raid Niell's storage, they probably had a chance to escape.
  • The Virus: The Root Acid, which is toxic to life and kills a person within a matter of time. It's implied this was the reason the researchers didn't receive any air drops, because they were possibly infected with it.
  • Wham Line: One of the notes indicates how doomed the Research Facility was:
    Subject: Root Acid
Found: Underneath snow layer in Standpoint Region
Description: Named after the way it spreads through materials like roots and ends up dissolving them. Can spread easily without proper precautions. Is toxic to life and will make them sick- can cause death and cure is unknown. Infected > 35.
