An Average Day At The Cat Cafe is a video game created by Angela He. The gameplay is rather simple; you play as a person who has recently opened at cat cafe, serving customers food and drinks. Do it correctly within a certain amount of time and you will receive points and money. Don't do on time or give them the wrong order and the customer will become angry and leave.

The game can be played on the web or downloaded on itch.io here.

This video game provides examples of:

  • The Alcoholic: The ghosts that show up at night only ever order alcohol.
  • Ambiguously Human: Some of the customers are human-looking, but they have transparent white skin. Even weirder is that the protagonist is just a normal-looking person.
  • Armless Biped: One of the night exclusive customers, a naked man with no arms and his butt out.
  • Artistic License – Animal Care: Several cat and dog customers will ask for coffee. Caffeine is actually poisonous to both animals.
  • Bee Afraid: One customer is an angry-looking bee.
  • Bilingual Bonus: "小猫", which shows up on the screen at the end of the day, translates to "kitten".
  • Cats Are Mean: Zig-zagged; several customers are sapient cats, whose personalities range from seemingly kind (the angel cat) to outright evil (the cat with a knife).
  • Comedic Underwear Exposure: One of the customers is a frog wearing nothing but a nighthat and a pair of boxers.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: The protagonist has brown eyes and brown hair.
  • Expy: One night-exclusive customer bears a striking resemblance to My Melody.
  • Food Porn
  • Hideous Hangover Cure: One of the night-exclusive customers demands a nasty drink in order to sober up.
  • Midnight Snack: Customers will still show up at and after 11 P.M. Some customers even show up at night only.
  • Naked People Are Funny: One night-exclusive customer is a naked man with no arms and his butt facing forwards.
  • Nameless Narrative: None of the characters have official names.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: A couple of the night-exclusive customers have these.
  • Surprisingly Creepy Moment: Around 11 P.M., the game introduces new customers exclusive to that time of day. While some are just plain odd looking, there are a few who are black, ghost-like entities who speak in garbled shapes. Another pair of the night-exclusive customers hold knives and demand money from the player. The song also changes from relaxing lo-fi to unsettling ambience.
  • Toilet Humour: A couple instances:
    • If you create a bad drink, the game will play a fart sound effect.
    • One night-exclusive customer is a man doing a Potty Dance who requests a roll of toilet paper.
  • Totem Pole Trench: One customer that shows up at night is a pair of ducks wearing a trenchcoat. They have a chance to order a round of shots.
  • Vocal Dissonance: The dumpling customer has a pretty deep voice.
