- California Doubling: Averted. Except for specific episodes set elsewhere, the show was filmed entirely in Las Vegas (also averted for the season 3 premiere "Aloha, You're Dead" which is also set in Hawaii).
- Fake Nationality: In "The Visitor",Kim Cattrall played a Middle Eastern princess from an unspecified country, with heavy makeup and dyed hair to look the part.
- The Other Darren: Raymond St. Jacques played Lt. Nelson in the pilot film and the first couple of appearances in the series before Greg Morris took over the role and the character was promoted from recurring to regular.

- Heather Menzies, Robert Urich's wife, guest-starred in three episodes. In what may have been a Casting Gag she plays a Stalker with a Crush who kills any woman who she thinks is interested in him in "Everything I Touch".
