• Bizarro Episode: Season 3 finale "Nightmare Come True" goes overboard with the idea of psychics helping police investigations, to the point the psychic in question is shown having 100% accurate predictions. The series until now had not gone past the bounds of reality.
• Harsher in Hindsight: The pilot has scenes filmed at the Maxim hotel, including the main entryway. Tupac Shakur was fatally shot at that same entryway in 1996.
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Kim Basinger in "Lady Ice".
  • Phil Morris in "Lost Monday".
  • Tori Spelling played Bea's daughter in a few episodes- a given as the series was produced by Aaron Spelling
• Unintentional Period Piece: To say Las Vegas has changed since the show aired would be an understatement. It especially hits hard when viewers realize that many of the casinos, hotels and other buildings seen no longer exist, having either been torn down or rebranded with new ownership. This includes Tanna's warehouse office, which was demolished when the Desert Inn closed.
• The Woobie: Binzer is life's punching bag. His earlier attempts at being a criminal failed miserably. After going straight thanks to Dan's help he's frequently beaten up, his girlfriend is killed, a hypnotist makes him commit crimes, two former associates almost kill him because they think he has money from a bank robbery and he's almost electrocuted when he grabs a rigged coffee pot meant to kill Dan, among many other instances of bad fortune.
