Trivia / Trauma Center (Atlus)

Go To

  • Contest Winner Cameo: The winner of a contest at E3 2009, Charlie Malone, was made into a patient in Trauma Team.
  • Follow the Leader:
    • LifeSigns: Surgical Unit adopted a less realistic approach in surgeries to (presumably) compete with Trauma Center, compared to its mostly grounded (and Japanese-only) first game.
    • The [adult swim] Amateur Surgeon games are basically what happens when you replace everyone in these games with complete idiots.
  • Franchise Killer: Trauma Team bombed to such degree that Atlus gave up on the series as a whole, despite strong sales from previous entries.
  • No Export for You : The series brutally ended in Europe with New Blood, as neither Trauma Center 2 nor Trauma Team came out there, for no apparent reason. At least the DS isn't region locked, allowing the former game to be imported.
  • Old Shame: Atlus has shown a distinct displeasure with the franchise ever since Trauma Team's failure that they don't even mention it in their annual player surveys, despite being five games strong.
  • Referenced by...:
    • A game in Atlus' more popular Persona series, Persona 4, used Antibiotic Gels as mid-to-high-value healing items.
    • A fellow Atlus series, Etrian Odyssey, has constant references to it, typically with the Medic class. The first game and its remake has the skills Healing Touch and Caduceus, and while the second and its remake merely has Healing Touch return, it becomes as potent as in these games. Hoffman, Derek, and Angie all appear in medical facilities in the first three games (though Angie is Adapted Out from Untold 2), in that order and the fourth game has Gabe appear as a Medic portrait.
  • Similarly Named Works:
    • This video game series shares its name with a Korean manhwa that had come out in 2019, alongside an unrelated movie that was also released in 2019.
    • Similarly, the latest entry in the series, Trauma Team, shares its name with an organization in the Cyberpunk series.
  • Working Title: The first DS game was revealed under the name Caduceus: Surgical Operation. Its Wii remake, under Caduceus NEO.
