Trivia / The Scarlet Pumpernickel

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Yes, Mel Blanc talks to himself in practically every cartoon, but this is a special case, since this marks the only Golden Age era cartoon that Daffy and Sylvester have dialogue together, and they are both essentially the same voice (Daffy being the Sylvester voice sped up a little.)note
  • All-Star Cast: This short pretty much has a role for almost every single one of Warner Bros.' cartoon stars, with the notable exception of its biggest star, Bugs Bunny.
  • The Other Darrin: This is one of the few cartoons made while Arthur Q. Bryan was alive, where Elmer Fudd is voiced by someone else. Elmer's one line is done by Mel Blanc, for cost reasons.
  • What Could Have Been: The isolated music track on the DVD is very different from the final music track. For one thing, the "William Tell Overture" plays during the first scene showing the Scarlet Pumpernickel being chased, but that's not what plays in the final version. Also, "In an 18th Century Drawing Room" plays in a different key.
