Trivia / The Numbershots

Go To

  • Ascended Fanon: The character of Mia, Astral's Love Interest, was originally created by Yin-Yang Yoh for his "My Maiden" series, who is a fan of Taylor's Numbershots series. She gets properly introduced as a member of the Numbershots continuity in Numbershot C13.
  • Hypothetical Casting: Some of the YCM Wikia pages for Taylor's characters will have a voice actor listed for them in Japanese and English. Some of these border on Casting Gag, with the VA or seiyuu being chosen from a shared role.
  • Outdated by Canon: The fanfic was being written around the time ZEXAL was still airing, so a lot of elements first introduced in these stories became outdated as time passed on. While it was declared that the story's canon and universe branches off from Episode 49 onwards, what it had guessed about the series beforehand is quite different considering later episodes. That said, it also welds parts of the official canon into the fanfic as time went on.
    • A lot of the titular Number cards have since gotten official variants in the card game. Some of these official Number cards would be incorporated into the fanfic itself.
    • Rio Kamishiro was stated to be Shark's older sister in the fanfic before revealing they were twins, and Rio was the younger one.
    • It was stated that both Gauche and Droite were older than Kaito, both being in their early-30s and were previously husband and wife. Episode 49 reveals that they are much younger, not much older than 19.
    • III and IV’s real names in the Numbershots were revealed to be Keegan and Marcus before the anime stated they were Michael and Thomas respectively.
    • Vector being the Big Bad of the Numbershots (only known as "Barian") became a bit obsolete once it was revealed that a bigger god, Don Thousand, was sleeping in their world.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Number 13: Paradise/Numbers 13: Devoted Empress Love was originally going to be Number 12 (from adding the two digits of Utopia/Hope's Number, 3 + 9), but it was changed after "Number 12: Crimson Shadow Armor Ninja" was revealed.
