Trivia / The Mandalorian S2E6 "Chapter 14: The Tragedy"

Go To

  • Blooper: A common minor one that can be difficult to avoid. When Boba tells Din that he intends to save Grogu, there's a reaction shot to Fennec. When it cuts back to a group shot, her body language is noticeably different.
  • The Cast Showoff: When Boba goes ham on some Stormtroopers with a gaffi stick, Temuera Morrison seems to be channeling some of his skills with the traditional Māori weapon, the taiaha, albeit in a stylized form.
  • Deleted Scene: The documentary shared some footage of Greef Karga greeting Din, Boba, and Fennec on Nevarro, before Din convinces Cara to help rescue Grogu.
  • Meaningful Release Date: Two regarding the guest cast:
    • This episode came out during the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, which was Boba Fett's feature film debut.
    • This episode premiered the same day Mulan (2020) became available to regular subscribers of Disney+. Both feature Ming-Na Wen (although Mulan only featured her in a Remake Cameo).
  • Promoted Fanboy:
  • Throw It In!: During the filming of Cara's close ups, Pedro Pascal agreed to remove his helmet and allow Gina Carano to look into his eyes.
  • What Could Have Been: Jon Favreau hired Robert Rodriguez as a last-minute replacement for another director; neither Rodriguez nor Favreau have stated whom exactly the latter originally wanted.
  • Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: A directing example; Robert Rodriguez came on as a last-minute replacement for a different director, but the script he was given was only 19 pages long (equaling maybe 20 minutes of screen-time at best, or two-thirds the length of a usual Mandalorian episode). Jon Favreau quickly confirmed he wanted Rodriguez to fill the rest of the runtime with action and gave him free reign to do whatever he wanted. Rodriguez delivered.
