- Approval of God: Spaceman's review of Eat Me: The Musical has gained positive attention from both the film's director Brian Wimer and members of the Falsies. It even led to Wimer taking Spaceman on as an intern for a few years!
- The Cast Showoff:
- Being a musician himself, Spaceman has occasionally made use of his skills in his reviews. Examples include his parodies of "The Trial" in his review of The Wall: Live in Berlin, "Best Song Ever" in his review of One Direction: This Is Us, and "Soldier's Poem" by Muse in his review of Z-O-M-B-I-E-S, the first of which had him playing different characters.
- He's an artist and draws the title cards for his reviews, being one of a few reviewers to do so.
- Colbert Bump: His review of Van Halen III received a boost in views after being featured on the Van Halen News Desk.
- Creator Backlash:
- In TheHappySpaceman Messed Up?!, he expresses shock at his debut Metropolis review being one of his most viewed. This is because of it being before he found his own style as a reviewer and the amount of mistakes the video contains, to the point where the entire video topped the list.
- In his re-review of Rock of Ages, which doubles as a review of his own original review of the movie, Spaceman also expressed many regrets said review, his fourth ever review, due to its lousy sound mixing, having many jokes that land, still trying to ape other reviewers' styles, giving the film too much credit (he was harsher and found that he disliked the film in his re-review), and making a joke about Rick Allen, which Spaceman finds to be in very poor taste.
- Milestone Celebration:
- Celebrated his tenth anniversary of being on YouTube with a two part review of Phantom of the Paradise, which he has described as his favorite movie.
- He celebrated getting 1,000 subscribers by recording a commentary of his Van Halen III review.
- Missing Episode: He had filmed reviews of My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Rainbow Rocks, The Weird Al Show, and TRON: Legacy in 2017, but they were thought to be lost after his computer got nuked. However, he later said in a video in 2020 that he came across files of the former two and began work on reconstructing them, floating the possibility of them getting released.
- Newbie Boom: The video for Music from "The Elder" exploded in views, gaining over a thousand views after only two days on YouTube.
- Promoted Fanboy: In addition to Spaceman becoming an intern for Brian Wimer, his review of Eat Me: The Musical got him additional attention from Falsies frontman Lance Brenner; in 2022, Spaceman became the bassist and keyboardist for the Falsies.
- Real-Life Relative:
- In his parody of "The Trial" in his review of The Wall: Live In Berlin, the Mother role is played (but not voiced) by Spaceman's actual mum.
- Both of Spaceman's parents appear at the end of his video, TheHappySpaceman's Six Favorite Christmas Songs.
- Spaceman's mother appears again at the end of his Every Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Special video.
- Real Song Theme Tune: The theme for Was It Really That Bad? is "Bad" by Michael Jackson.
- Schedule Slip: Over the course of the last few years, Spaceman has only been able to put out a few videos each year. This is mainly because of most of his time being taken up by college classes.
- Throw It In!: When Spaceman finds out in his review of Dee Dee Ramone's Rap Album that the album has a track on it called "The Crusher", he says "'The Crusher'? What, like the doctor? LIKE THE WESLEY?" The last line was unscripted, hence the small chuckle afterwards.
- What Could Have Been:
- In addition to the aforementioned "lost" episodes, Spaceman worked on a script for a review of Operation Mindcrime II by Queensrÿche. However, this went unfilmed when he was unsatisfied with the review.
- There were plans for his tenth anniversary special review of Phantom of the Paradise to have even more cameos than the four it had.
- In late 2021, Spaceman filmed a video looking at bands and artists who were banned in The Soviet Union. However, he chose not to release it in light of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
