- Late Export for You: The film was released in Latin America in 2022, 15 years after the film's initial release.
- Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.":
- Downplayed, but this movie was the Funimation's first take on the Alabasta arc; At the time, Funimation was starting to backtrack and release their dub from the beginning after it's initial showing of the Skypeia arc on TV via Toonami.
- Jaguar D. Saul appeared here five years before Funimation would reach his anime introduction in the TV series and two years before his original manga appearance was published in the west. He's voiced by Mark Stoddard for this movie's dub, but would be played by Cole Brown in the series.
- No Export for You: The TV version of the movie came out about a year after the DVD release of the dub. So the parts that cover the Whisky Peak arc weren't covered in the movie.
- The Other Darrin:
- In the Japanese release, the late Takeshi Aono replaced Masaya Takatsuka as the voice of Lassou.
- In the Latin Spanish dub, Roberto Carrillo does not reprise his role as Mr. 2 for unknown reasons. Thus, the character is instead voiced by Tommy Rojas.
- You Sound Familiar: Takeshi Aono, who voiced Mihawk in the TV series as well as quite a few different roles in the previous seven films, voices Lassou.
