Trivia for the books series:

  • Recycled Script: The plot of Sweet Valley Confidential has Elizabeth moving out of Sweet Valley as a result of her boyfriend cheating on her with Jessica. This plot was used in the Elizabeth book where Liz was the main star. The most notable change was that in Elizabeth, Liz moved to England while in Confidential Liz moved to New York.

Trivia for the TV series:

  • Channel Hop: After three seasons in weekly syndication, the show moved to UPN for its fourth season, where all 22 episodes were aired in a four-week span. (Saban Entertainment had a deal with UPN to program their kids block at the time.)
  • Dawson Casting: Downplayed. A frequent criticism of the show is that the Daniel twins were too old-looking to play high schoolers Jessica and Elizabeth, but they were only 18 at the start of the show, so only slightly older than their characters. Played straight in later seasons, with Brittany and Cynthia Daniel being in their 20s and still playing teenagers in high school.
  • No Ending: The show was cancelled without a definitive conclusion, as the cast assumed they were renewed for a fifth season.
  • The Other Darrin: Happens to characters Todd Wilkins, Lila Fowler, and Bruce Patman. For Todd and Lila, their original actors Ryan Bittle and Bridget Flanery (seasons 1-2) were replaced by Jeremy Garrett and Shirlee Elliot (seasons 3-4). Bruce is played by Brock Burnett in season 1 and by Christopher Jackson in season 2, before being Put on a Bus in the last two seasons.
  • Recycled Soundtrack: Given this was a Saban show, it's a given they'd reuse the music over on Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, and vice-versa.
    • The first episode uses a song called "Hear Me Out", which was originally made for the Saban-produced TV movie Blindfold: Acts of Obsession.

Trivia for both the books and the TV series:

  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: All of the books in The Verse (save for SV Confidential and The Sweet Life) have been out of print for years. The first 12 books of SVH are available in e-book format. Likewise, only the TV series' first season has been released on DVD (the usual treatment by Disney for an ex-Saban show). Although the Twins series is beginning to have a graphic novel re-release following the success of The Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels.
