Trivia / Supernanny

Go To

  • Cowboy Be Bop At His Computer: The Supernanny Wiki claims that Adam Gorbea in "The Gorbea Family" watches Song of the South on VHS when he hogs the TV, which is impossible as that movie has never gotten a VHS release in the US. What he was actually watching was the "Dr. Looney's Remedy" music video that plays before A Goofy Movie (which he likes to watch instead of going to sleep)
  • Foreign Remake: The show has been adapted in France under the same name, with the original run being hosted by Cathy Sarrai and aired on M6 from 2005 to 2010, and the new run being hosted by Sylvie Jenaly and produced by TF1.
  • Missing Episode:
    • The Agate Family and The Smith-Clarke Family very rarely has their clips rerun on the official Supernanny YouTube channel due to their subject matter.
    • On the US side, the official Supernanny YouTube channel has yet to upload the Terrill and Colier Family episodes. The former has yet to be seen after its release due to the suicide of the father after the episode and the latter has been pulled out of suspicion that the father in that episode had “pedophilic” actions to the kids. The Marko/Griswold Family episodes will also most likely never see the light of day as it was hosted by Mike Ruggles (though the reasons why it has never been mentioned have not been said). The Chapman and Naszkiewicz Family episodes (also including the UK-adapted episodes) had been skipped when the series was first uploaded years prior, but they have since been available. When the show was reran on the Style Network and on UPtv, all episodes were broadcast on a regular basis until roughly early 2017.
  • No Export for You: Before coming to the U.S., Supernanny had at least four seasons in the U.K. A few of the U.K. episodes have been aired in America, but they're treated as if Jo is returning for a visit. The majority of U.K. episodes have not been aired in the U.S. and are only accessible through YouTube and select DVDs.
  • Reality Subtext: With regard to One-Steve Limit on the series page: The name "Madison" was among the top five most popular names for American baby girls from 2000 to 2007, while "Dylan" was in the top 30 for boys during the same period. Emma, on the other hand, has consistently been in the top five girls' names since 2002, note  after being in the top 25 between 1998 and 2001.
  • Referenced by...:
    • Supernanny is parodied in a South Park episode, "Tsst", during its tenth season. She's hired to deal with Cartman, and ends up going insane and eating her own feces inside her room in an asylum, muttering, "It's from Hell...it's from Hell!"
    • In an episode of Drawn Together, Supernanny appears as a supervillain who puts all of the superheroes of the world, including Captain Hero, in time out so that they won't stop her from taking over the world.
