• Executive Meddling: Since the Main Character is an Extreme Omnisexual, this originally included his own family. Patreon was not comfortable with this element, forcing Darkcookie to change the characters to roommates who are totally not related to MC. There are unofficial patches that undo this, although the dialogue might get odd in some places.
  
  This actually proved to have massive ramifications in the indie H-Game industry. Summertime Saga is easily the most highly-funded and consequently the most visible porn game on Patreon, so it was the game that attracted attention for its incest content, leading to the subsequent Patreon ban on taboo content across the entire platform^note it was actually a result of Moral Guardians making complaints to PayPal, which handles all of Patreon's monetary transactions, which caused PayPal to lean on Patreon to purge taboo content. The ensuing crackdown led to a lot of erotic games following DarkCookie's lead by rewriting their incestuous stories, resulting in "landlady" and "roommate" becoming semi-sarcastic Unusual Euphemisms for "mother" and "sister" in adult game circles^note whenever you see a game featuring the hero's "landlady" and "roommate" it's really incest-themed content in a Paper-Thin Disguise and leading to the proliferation of many external "unofficial" patches to uncensor content ^note which have to be kept secret, as Patreon will suspend or ban even games that only contain incest through the use of a 3rd party patch. Many games where incestuous themes were too central to be written around, such as Dating My Daughter by Mr. Dots, were forced to be removed from the platform altogether (which consequently caused Mr. Dots to create Melody to take its place as his primary Patreon content), sending many of them over to alternate and less-restrictive crowdfunding sites such as SubscribeStar.
• Rule 34 – Creator Reactions: DarkCookie seems to be a-ok with fans posting their own erotic artwork of his characters on the game's official Discord channel. There's quite a lot. While the original game in question is already an H-Game, there could still be copyright issues.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Cosmic Cumics was originally staffed by a girl named Tatiana (based on the streamer PureRuby87 aka Tatiana Badiu), who was removed in later updates and replaced with the character Lily.
  • Raz's appearance was heavily changed from his original conception as a more generic Russian crime boss with Bald of Evil and a nasty scar over his eye before firmly establishing him as a satire of Vladimir Putin.
