Trivia / Robinson Crusoe on Mars

• California Doubling. Death Valley (with the help of Chroma Key that replaced the cloudless blue skies found there with suitably extraterrestrial matte paintings) filled in for the barren Martian landscape.
• Prop Recycling: The alien slavers' ships are clearly the Martian tripods from the better-known 1953 film The War of the Worlds with a Palette Swap (silver body with blue and red lights instead of dark metal with green lights) and the eyestalk removed.
  • The alien slavers spacesuits look like those from Forbidden Planet, topped with the helmet from Robot Monster (minus the antennas.)
