• Actor-Shared Background: Asta, Dan and Jay (who, it turns out, is Asta's daughter) are Ute (or half Ute, half white, in the last case), while their actors all have indigenous ancestries too. This also holds true for the supporting Ute characters, who are also played by indigenous actors.

  • Elvy as Isabelle sings "Nature Boy" in "Love Language".
  • Elizabeth Bowen (Deputy Baker) and Corey Reynolds (Sheriff Thompson) perform "Wind Beneath My Wings" in "Welcome Aliens".
  • Alice Wetterlund (D'Arcy Bloom) performs "I Think We're Alone Now" in "An Alien in New York."
• Real Song Theme Tune: The show uses "Bilgewater" by the defunct and rather obscure band Brown Bird, chosen by the show's creator when searching for songs by by artists he had never heard before. The pilot episode has a longer intro with a version of the song that includes lyrics, the remaining episodes use an instrumental only.
