  • Approval of God: Despite not being part of the development process, Roberta Williams stated she and Ken played the game in their spare time and thoroughly enjoyed it.
  • Beam Me Up, Scotty!: It's entirely due to Spoony's LP that we have the "I heard that, Curtis" meme; Warner never says it in the actual game.
  • Colbert Bump:
    • The original game aside, the main reason you've probably heard of this game is because Spoony LP'd it.
    • It more recently got a bump from Ross Scott, who goes on the record saying it is one of his all time favorites.
  • Creator Backlash: In a 2020 interview, designer and writer Lorelei Shannon admits to regret killing off Trevor, now loathing the Bury Your Gays trope.
  • Franchise Killer: A third game was planned not long after the game's completion, supposedly involving a vampire cult. However, the game was scrapped and the vampire idea would be integrated into Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned.
  • Multi-Disc Work: The game is on five CDs, slightly fewer than its predecessor.
  • What Could Have Been: The Alien World was supposed to be a lot bigger than what was seen in the game. There was supposed to be a point in it where Curtis had to swim to progress. However, budget and time constraints caused scenes to be cut out or never developed.
  • Word of Saint Paul: Bob is not so bad, according to the guy who played him (actor Don Berg). He sees Bob as a deeply insecure person who's jealous of Curtis's success, and is also secretly in love with him. He hides all of this by being a colossal jerk to Curtis.
