- Acting for Two: A lot of the roles were doubled up: Tita and Meta; Kokoro and Rika; Hanafuuma and Ryukotsuki; Operetta and both Gofer sisters; Madoka and Neko-Senchou; and Arnval and Ruby.
- Franchise Killer: Unfortunately due to poor sales and harsh/middling reception of Otomedius Excellent coupled with Konami's lack of interest in the series, especially in Western territories, it seems very unlikely the Otomedius series will bounce back and try again.
- Marth Debuted in "Smash Bros.": In the worldwide release of Otomedius Excellent, this is the first time Shiori Fujisaki showed up in any form outside of the Tokimeki Memorial franchise.
- No Export for You: For the first game, probably due to its dependence on a special arcade stick with a touchpad. The console-only sequel, Otomedius Excellent, released in North America in November 2011, following some severe release date jumbling due to Executive Meddling from Microsoft.
- Release Date Change: Excellent was originally planned for a North American release in July 2011. The game was eventually released four months later.
- Sequel First: Otomedius/Otomedius Gorgeous remain Japan-only, while the sequel Otomedius Excellent migrated across the pond to America and Europe.
