Trivia / O2Jam

Go To

  • Cast the Expert: Pory's not just good at composing music, he's also good at digital drawing. A few of the song images from O2Jam Analog were drawn by himself!
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Due to lack of real updates (it appears the developer has no plan to bring the game further than just "play the music well to be the #1 in the lobby"), boring UIs, and lack of animations, the PC version official servers gradually lost players, and eventually closed. Only private servers remain.
  • Line to God:
  • No Export for You: Officially, the original PC game was never released outside of the Asia Pacific. However, the Malaysian version could be played from any country that didn't have its own version, with the UI in English. Why it wasn't branded as the international version is not clear.
  • Similarly Named Works: This game has a song called "R3", which is also the name of an unrelated beatmania song by tiger YAMATO.
  • Vaporware: O2Jam 2 was intended to be released by MoMo Corp. (the same company who created O2Jam U in 2012), however it never comes to fruition because MoMo Corp. already went under in 2017. The cause of their bankruptcy is the Android version of O2Jam U, which was horribly unsuccessful because the songs are separated into some applications instead of compiling all of the songs into a single application.

Miscellaneous Trivias:

  • Due to the emergence of DJMAX Online in August 2004 and the spread of O2Main, which was hacked in China in 2005, O2Jam PC is rapidly declining. O2Jam’s graphics, avatars and song qualities begin to fall behind DJMAX, NoteFactory's note charts become generically the same as they used to be, and the illegal program called O2Mania (an O2Jam emulator freeware equivalent to Osu!) which allows paid songs to be played for free, leaving a speck of remaining users of O2Jam.
