Trivia / Noises Off

Go To

  • All-Star Cast: The movie certainly qualifies. The least-famous members of the main cast would be Mark-Linn Baker (who starred in My Favorite Year and Perfect Strangers) and Julie Hagerty (who starred in Airplane! and Lost in America). All nine members of the main cast are listed across the top of the movie poster—in alphabetical order on the poster with the Al Hirschfeld drawing, but in other orders on other posters.
    • Also sort of in-universe. Dottie and Philip are TV stars, and Selsdon a respected theatre actor. The others aren’t quite stars, but most of them have plenty of screen credits. The implication is that the touring show is a starry cash grab.
  • Casting Gag: Christopher Reeve had already played a character who faints at the sight of blood in Switching Channels.
  • Completely Different Title: Some translated titles are equivalent to the English (French: "Bruits de Coulisses", literally "Noises from Backstage"; Italian: "Rumori Fuori Scena", "Noises From Off-Stage"), but some are not:
    • Sweden: "Kaos I Kulissen" ("Chaos and Scenery"); the Norwegian title translates similarly.
    • Brazil: "Impróprio para Menores" ("Inappropriate For Minors")
    • Portugal: "Apanhados no Acto" ("Caught in the Act")
  • Corpsing: John Ritter is visibly trying not to laugh in the third act when he's shouting "Sardines! Sardines!"
