Trivia / Ninjago: Dragons Rising

• Content Leak:
  • Concept art, set names, and a promotional image leaked for Ninjago: Dragons Rising, most of which showed off and named the new characters introduced in the series.
  • The first two episodes of Season 1 were suddenly released on LEGO's Youtube channel in German several days before the actual premiere of the series, before being taken down.
  • The first few episodes of Part 2 were uploaded to various places in late September, before the official release in October.
• Easter Egg:
  • In the Crossroads, several creatures from previous seasons can be seen in the crowd.
  • The Ninjargon in the Monastery in "The Merge: Part Two" says control time control everything, a reference to season 7.
  • In a similar manner, in "Beyond Madness", the scrolls in the Bounty have the proverb All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
• The Other Darrin: In "The Calm Inside", the young Lloyd shown in a flashback is played by Samuel Vincent, his current actor, rather than Jillian Michaels.
• Recast as a Regular: Deven Mack and Sabrina Pitre, who played King Vangelis and Princess Vania in the original series, respectively, play new Ninjas Arin and Sora in Dragons Rising.
• Spoiled by the Merchandise:
  • The sets for the series feature Jay, Zane, Cole, and Wu, who were thought in-series to have possibly died in the merge, in new Ninja outfits. Zane is confirmed to be alive in-series, drastically increasing the chances of survival for all of them, with Jay and Cole also being confirmed to be alive in the second half of the first season. However, there is also a smidge of misleading marketing as in the first season, neither Jay nor Cole properly rejoin the team with Jay himself never even suiting up in a Ninja outfit, as does Wu who may or may not be some sort of spirit guiding the Ninja.
  • Supplementary material has revealed that Wyldfyre is the Elemental Master of Heat, something that hasn't been established yet within the series with one of the mysteries being whether or not she and Kai really share the same element of Fire. It wouldn't be until halfway through Season 2 that this knowledge is discovered In-Universe.
