WMG / Ninjago: Dragons Rising

Go To

Spoilers Off applies to all "Moments" pages like Wild Mass Guessing

The Merge of the realms will bring back old villains.
The Merge will allow Vex and Clouse to enter Ninjago to get revenge on Zane and Garmadon respectively. They could team up with Pythor, The Mechanic, Aspheera, Vangelis, and/or Mr. G (an upgraded version of Mr. E/Mr. F).
  • The Mechanic has returned in The Elemental Mechs mini-series so who's to say that other villains can't return also?
  • Confirmed: Fugi Dove has returned as well.

The giant Source Dragon underneath Imperium allowed himself to be captured.
The Dragon said himself that he had enough "in a single claw" power to destroy Imperium, so it seems odd that the Claws of Imperium were able to capture it... Unless the Source Dragon is a Play-Along Prisoner, allowing itself to be captured for some "mystical purpose".

Rapton is actually Empress Beatrix's relative, possibly her son.
They share the same white hair and he always seems to get off lightly even though he has failed more times than Ras, implying that he's only gotten a high ranking due to Nepotism.
  • Jossed. A relative of Beatrix would probably fare worse in Imperium, given her history.

Vangelis will fight Arin.
Arin and Vangelis are both voiced by Deven Mack. So he will be the villain that will be easiest to bring back. Cole will be working with the Dragons Rising team during the season.

Ras is from Chima.
He's a furry guy who the Empress states is not from Imperium (which figures, seeing as Imperium doesn't exactly have a meaningful population of anthropomorphic tiger things). We already know that Chima is one of the Sixteen Realms, and it is home to the Tiger Tribe, so why not? (Except for how Chima has been irrelevant since 2015.)
  • Probably not. If he is from Chima, then why does he look so different from the other Tigers?
    • He went goth.
    • It's probably because he's from a different region of the Wyldness than Chima is located in.
  • Legends of Chima has been airing reruns for the first time in a long while on CITV, where Ninjago airs in the UK.
  • It turns out that Ras states that he is from the Wyldness. But it's possible that he could be lying to keep a low profile…

Empress Beatrix will hold Arin's parents hostage.
Empress Beatrix could find Arin's family before he does and knowing that they hold a special place in the Ninja trainee's heart, she will do everything in her power to harm them just to get Arin to surrender or worse, make Arin emotionally unstable enough to perform any reckless attacks that could cause his own undoing.

Akita and Faith will make their return sometime in the future.
Considering the Merge, and how Akita remained confident that she will cross paths with Lloyd again one day, this is likely. Faith may also help the heroes reunite with one another.
  • If Akita does return, then what are the odds she'll meet Harumi? THAT would be real awkward for Lloyd, to say the least.
    • Given that time moved much faster in her realm and the Ice Emperor arc was years before the Merge, shouldn't Akita be really old?
      • Time in the Never Realm moves the same as in Ninjago. Zane was also sent 60 years into the past when Aspheera sent him there.

Deceased characters will make their return.
  • Since the Departed Realm was merged with the other realms, we'll likely see both friends and foes who had passed on. Some might include Mystake, Dr. Julien, the Emperor and Empress of Ninjago, Hutchins, and King Trimaar to help assist the heroes. Fallen foes such as Samukai, General Kozu, General Cryptor, Min-Droid, Master Chen, The Omega, Char, and Prince Kalmaar could make their return to harass the Ninja.
    • They would probably still have no bodies, but we know that there are ways around that.

Empress Beatrix will be revealed to have an Elemental Power.
It is unclear why everyone in Imperium looks up to Empress Beatrix. So a possible explanation would be that she impressed everyone with an Elemental Power she has. Whatever it may be. Also, it's strange how Ras, who is physically stronger than Beatrix, would want to follow orders from a simple queen. Unless her possible Elemental Power may have made her stronger than him.
  • Jossed, but not far off. Beatrix's sister actually had an Elemental Power (some sort of purple energy, exactly what it was is unknown), which, in addition to her being born a few minutes earlier, set her to be next in line for the throne until Ras' meddling.

The Overlord is Ras’ true master.
  • Since the Overlord can never truly die, it’s likely that he found a new herald in Ras sometime after Lloyd defeated him in Crystalized.
    • Makes sense. It is possible that the Overlord may have helped Ras go from the Wyldness to Imperium sometime before the events of the series.
      • As awesome as that theory is, it feels too early to bring back the Overlord, let alone have him be Ras' true master. Which means that the Overlord may not return... yet.
    • Doc Wyatt has said that the Overlord has returned to his dormant state.
      • So even if the Overlord is not Ras’ true master, there’s possibly still hope for the former to return in the distant future.

The identity of Zeatrix's Elemental Power.
  • Plasma
  • Force
  • Sonic
  • Space
  • Shockwave
  • Magnetism
  • Motion
  • Propulsion

Possible new Elemental Powers.
  • Cold (A power similar to Ice but different)
  • Magnetism (a scrapped power)
  • Rock/Crystal (The latter also being a scrapped power)
  • Plasma
  • Force
  • Sonic
  • Rainbow
  • Sand (Although Word of God stated that sand wasn't considered to be an elemental power, who knows if the writers will change their mind and actually make it an actual power)
  • Thunder (A power similar to lightning but different)
  • Soul
  • Lava/Magma
  • Strength
  • Space
  • Shockwave
  • Sun
  • Moon
  • Sight (a scrapped power)
  • Motion
  • Propulsion
  • Beasts

Arin will gain a new Elemental Power.
It is possible that as the series progresses, he will also gain a new elemental power, too. A power that could put him on par with his elemental allies and power up his spinjitzu powers as well.

If he does gain a new power, then this is what it could probably look like:

  • It will be associated with yellow (Due to Arin's color scheme being yellow)
  • Capable of emitting heat (When Arin channeled object spinjitzu into a rock, the rock made a hole in Beatrix's mech. But the hole also seems as if it was melted, which could be a hint that there was also some elemental energy transferred into the rock also.)
  • Relate to Arin's background (Given how the new Elemental Masters have an element that somehow corresponds to them, from Euphrasia, a Cloud Kingdom inhabitant, having Wind, to Geo, a Geckle/Munce fusion, having Fusion, Arin's possible power must relate to him in some way, shape, or form.)
  • Contains electric properties (If one looks at the box art of the Dragons Rising sets, Arin's face seems to change into Jiro, a lightning dragon. Which could imply that his power could be electric in some way.)
  • Related to or helping with cooking (Arin is a good cook so his power could help him with cooking)
  • Related to gadgets (He has a grappling hook)
  • Increases strength (Arin, a human, when sliding, managed to knock down Ras at one point. This could hint at elemental energy being at play at the time.)
  • Grants flight capabilities (While Arin does use his grappling hook to get to higher places, his power could allow him to do so without the hook.)
  • He will gain an old Elemental power temporarily by using a Chronosteel weapon that the Ninjas and/or other Elemental Masters will give a bit of their power to, letting him access the power but each will only last a day.

Arin, Sora, and Wyldfyre will gain possible Love Interest's.
Given how the OG ninja found a Love Interest of their own, it won't be too surprising to see the new ninja team find possible suitors of their own.
  • Confirmed by Kevin Burke and Doc Wyatt themselves that Wyldfyre will gain a love interest in Season 2.

Zeatrix is The Administrator.
So far, Zeatrix has not been seen at all in the present day. It’s also worth noting The Administrator hasn’t been seen either. So the two may be the same person. Meaning that Zeatrix might have created The Administration so she could still have a kingdom of her own and took on the identity of “The Administrator” to hide from her sister.

Lloyd and Garmadon's Oni subplot will get salvaged.
Since Lloyd's Oni form ended up falling under They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot in Crystalized, it will get a second chance in this story, with Lloyd coming to accept that his Oni heritage is part of himself, and that Oni are not inherently evil.

Garmadon's humanity and goodness will be restored, but he'll still have access to his Oni form for battle and remain in control of himself.
Should Garmadon make his return to the series, it will revolve around making peace with himself and finally reawakening the humanity and goodness within himself to become Sensei Garmadon once again. Accepting his Oni heritage as part of himself will allow him to use his Oni form and powers without losing himself. It'll also help improve his relationship with Lloyd as well.

Nuckal, Kruncha, and General Wyplash will get A Day in the Limelight regarding future explorations of the Underworld.
The 3 prominent Skulkin will get more prominence and possibly work alongside the Ninja in an Enemy Mine situation should they reunite in the Underworld.

Possible ways Cinder has gained the power of Smoke
  • Ash died and the power sought Cinder out.
  • Cinder is somehow a blood relative of Ash.
  • Ash is Cinder and vice-versa.
  • Alternatively, Cinder may not actually have smoke powers but rather powers similar to Smoke. Like how Kai's Fire powers and Wyldfyre's Heat powers are similar but different. Perhaps Cinder may actually have Smog/Fog powers instead.

New elemental masters will not be introduced in Season 2.
Given that the information on Season 2 doesn’t mention anything about new elemental masters, it’s unlikely that any new characters having new powers will appear in Season 2. Unless they show up as a surprise.
Ras' master caused the merge.
Ras has implied that his master is someone powerful, maybe even an overlord level threat. So it's possible in theory that this entity used his power to cause the merge, so he could take over all the realms.

If the New Ninja from Crystalized return, they would have also gained new elemental powers after the merge.
The elemental powers seem to seek out people of a newer generation. With the New Ninja from Crystalized seemingly being part of a newer generation, it won’t be too far-fetched to see them also gain elemental powers also. If true, who knows how this could affect their relationship with the old ninja?
  • Doc Wyatt said that he never said that they would not appear but he also said they may not be big priority. Meaning that even if they do return, they won't have elemental powers.

Jordana will have Heel–Face Turn.
In this clip, she feels unsure of Ras plans and is afraid of the Shadow Dojo, which could mean that she isn't as evil as she seems.
  • She will take Lloyd's role as a former Ninja foe that joins them.

After her potential Heel–Face Turn, Jordana and Sora will become couple, in similar way to Lumity.
Making them first LGBT couple in Ninjago series. This is based on this theory.

Zeatrix will not be referenced in Season 2 at all.
As more leaks for Season 2 arise, Zeatrix isn't mentioned nor referenced at all. Making it unlikely for Beatrix's sister to be mentioned even one bit.

The multiple Monasteries across the Merged Realm were born from The Merge.
So far as of Part 1 of Season 2, there have been three Monasteries found, with two of them having elements found in the original Monastery. Perhaps that as a result of The Merge, in contrast to everything being brought together, something about the Monastery that Wu knew before the other Ninja caused it to be splintered into multiple variants across the Merged Realm.

Sora’s lie will be revealed and send Arin into a Heroic BSoD that causes him to temporarily leave the team.
Sora was the one who really stopped Cinder with the mecha arm, not Arin, but let’s him think that he did it to try and boost his confidence. Thing is, a lie just to spare a friend’s feelings or give them a confidence boost is still a lie, and this feels like one of those “comes out at the worst possible moments” things where Arin finds out the truth in some way and gets super upset— not just because his “greatest achievement” was a lie and he didn’t actually earn his stripes like he thought he had, meaning that his newfound confidence was based off of false pretenses, but his own best friend lied to his face about it and let him believe he was improving when he wasn’t with a fake win, which will damage his trust in both her and the rest of the team since it will convince him that all of their encouragement and reassurance that he will get better was just their way of pitying him and that they don’t actually believe that he can handle himself on his own without their Elemental Powers to help, or that he’ll be able to reach their levels without one of his own. This confusion, disappointment, anger, doubt, and frustration will cause Arin to walk out on the team and strike out on his own once the threat of Ras, Jordana, and Cinder have been dealt with and, judging by his conversation with Ras about weakness and finding the right master to try and deal with it, lead his straight into the arms of one of the next villains to be manipulated by the, for their own ends.
  • Kevin Burke, one of the head writers, stated the main theme of this season would be secrets- both secrets of the past, like the Forbidden Five and Shatterspin, and secrets between the main characters that could affect their destinies. This would certainly qualify.
  • Arin could seek out a new master to improve his spinjitzu skills. He could come learn from Wu, Garmadon, Aspheera or a new character.

Ras master is one of the Source Dragons.
Adding this since it's had been bouncing on the Youtube. Plus, it would also link to the above theory of Ras master causing The Merge.
