• Ascended Fanon: Chlazy, on occasion, would allow headcannons to become canon so long as they don't interfere with the plot he had extensively planned out. Upon the request of fans, Blockbuster is of Mexican descent and Cookie and Steve Japple will become an item next season.
• Queer Character, Queer Actor: Baggy's voice actor, director balloon, is also non-binary like their character.
• Throw It In!: The demons and the following Darker and Edgier subplot were an on-the-spot decision to make the comic interesting and set it apart from other Object Show webcomics.
• What Could Have Been:
  • There were two contestants, Sunny D (A yellow glowing orb with Cool Shades) and Chef Hat (Self-explanatory), in the first season that didn't make the cut. Similarly, Wii Wheel (From the very first iteration of NSFW) was considered to be a contestant but was deemed too weird and subsequently replaced with Outlet.
  • The contestants were split into two teams instead of three in which Baggy, Blockbuster, Cookie, Expired Candy, Foam Hand, Monumenty, Neon Cactus, Peace Logo, Purple Pencil and Wall Nut would form one team and Aesthetic, Bootleg Leafy, Bucket Hat, Dorito, Green Ball, Pin Cushion, PNG, Red Ball, Sharpie, Spam and Steve Japple formed the other before its finalization.
  • Goodwill and Blockbuster originally had their logo names in their assets before Chlazy removed it for being too cramped.
  • Sharpie and Cookie's previous names were Marker and Burnt Cookie.
  • Cookie was planned to be like a dad to Aesthetic, but he got eliminated by viewer voting early on.
  • The Alliance would have only consisted of the twin pairs Pin Cushion and Red and Green Ball. Expired Candy, Peace Logo and Monumenty were added later to round out the membership.
  • A cut Running Gag for PNG is that everybody would have pretended to be unable to see him since he's technically transparent.
  • Monumenty would have had a quirk of talking to the monument (The unidentified, posing ball object) on his head as if it were his father.
  • Sharpie had the ability to phase through walls before their canonical powers are eventually revealed to be hexing and Flight (For very short periods of time).
  • Green Ball and Baggy, had they not gotten eliminated early on, were supposed to have their own storylines but was cut short before it could even start. Green Ball would have developed a Sibling Rivalry with Red Ball before making amends over his silly grudge while Baggy would learn how to grow a spine after befriending Purple Pencil and Bootleg Leafy.
  • The original voice actor for Blockbuster was someone named Annern but had dropped out before production began and wafflechip took their place.
• Word of Gay: Almost the entire cast is in the LGBTQ+ community (although only some have been confirmed in the show proper):
  • According to these official Pride Month posts for 2022:
    • Gay - Blockbuster, Goodwill, Badbuster, Eggcardo and Steve Japple
    • Lesbian - Outlet, Red Pencil and Rip-Off Leafy
    • Bisexual - Aesthetic, Badwill, Bucket Hat, Cookie, DVD Player, Eggiey, Expired Candy, Hot Chip, Peace Logo, Pin Cushion, Purple Pencil and Bucket Hat
    • Pansexual - Bootleg Leafy, Dorito, Red Ball and Demon Candy
    • Asexual - Green Ball, Neon Cactus and Graywill
    • Genderfluid - Your Host, Carrot Ball, Your Cohost and Carrot Bad
    • Non-Binary - Baggy, Eggiey, Sharpie and Marker
  • A later post reveals that, after some careful decision-making, Blockbuster is canonically Transgender which goes the same for his demonic counterpart, Badbuster.
  • Gltolo also states that their recommended character and Objectsona DVD Player is Transgender as well.
• Word of God: According to Chlazy's various posts on the official NSFW Discord server:
  • The webcomic is made using Flipaclip and was first created "out of spite" for reasons unknown. It was also the fourth object show the creator has ever made.
  • Your Host's design was made in less than an hour.
  • Neon Cactus is the youngest of the contestants and the entire cast in general at age twelve.
  • The first NFSW character to be created chronologically is Sharpie while PNG is the last.
  • The ball twins are specifically dodgeballs.
  • Aesthetic, Badbuster, Badwill, Bucket Hat and Pin Cushion are confirmed to be of Mexican descent (Though it's ambiguous whether Chlazy was joking or not).
  • The in-story reason why Sharpie and Walnut are friends is because they're both very lonely but the actual reason is that Chlazy had nothing else planned for them, plot or character-wise.
  • Blockbuster's character is based off Kite Man, specifically from the Harley Quinn (2019) series.
  • Bootleg Leafy's team name suggestion was revealed as Team Cock, the word obscured by Aesthetic's growling, as an in-joke for himself (This also explains Steve Japple's face in the panel).
  • Chlazy is refraining himself from establishing more romantic relationships (At least for the first season) other than Blockwill (Goodwill and Blockbuster) and Badbad (Badwill and Badbuster) as to quote, "No, cause I don’t want this to be the “ship show”".
  • Your Host sleeps in a race-car bed which he kept secret from the other contestants since she doesn't want them to jump on it like they do religiously.
  • There would be a possible dinner scene between Goodwill and Blockbuster's families for season two where the former's family gets rightly weirded out by the latter's family as well as the very likely possibility of both getting married in the future.
  • Blockwill's hypothetical child is Dollar General (An orange DG logo) which was an OC created by Gltolo.
  • On the subject of the contestants' families:
    • Aesthetic has a Vaporwave dad and a Spacecore mom. They both fed Aesthetic mostly brightly colored food which made it very fond of gradients and colour palettes.
    • Baggy is an only child and their parents are Ziplock Bag (Mother) and Duffle Bag (Father).
    • Blockbuster's Family includes Dadbuster (Where Blockbuster got his looks from), Mommy Beeper and Grandma Ecto Cooler. As Blockbuster is an only child, they all dote on and give their undivided attention to him which caused Blockbuster to pick up on their collective obsession around the 90s and grew to be the all-lovin', Totally Radical bodacious dude we now know today.
    • Bootleg Leafy has a tree for a mother and hundreds upon hundreds of identical leaf siblings, with names like "Charles" and "Maurice", in her foliage. Chlazy thought of a joke next season where Bootleg frequently swaps places with her many siblings to confuse the hell out of everyone, especially Purple Pencil.

    • Bucket Hat's family are various types of hats with his dad, Flat Top, and mom, Umbrella Hat, both running a small hat business.
    • The family of Cookie is pastry-based - Raisin Cookie (Dad), Sugar Cookie (Mom), Twinkies (Twin Brothers) and Brownie (Sister).
    • Dorito comes from a huge family [sized pack of Doritos]. His parents are both Cheetos and has many brothers and sisters.
    • Expired Candy is the eldest among her siblings Gumdrop and Coughdrop. Her parents are Peppermint (Dad) and Gumball (Mom).
    • Foam Hand has a single divorcée dad Baseball Bat while T-Ball Bat is his separated mother. His dad regularly plays catch with him but it doesn’t work since Foam Hand, unlike his name, doesn’t have hands.
    • Goodwill's family consists of his parents Dadwill (White) and Mamawill (Yellow), his younger brother Greenwill (Green, younger brother), twin sister Girlwill (Pink) and older sister Orange County-will (Orange). All of whom are identical to one another apart from their colours and Dadwill's mustache.
    • Green and Red Ball have a single widowed mother (Medicine Ball) since their father (Orange Dodgeball) was Eaten Alive by a 2nd grader years ago.
    • Neon Cactus may be the youngest contestants but she's the second youngest in her big family of various lights after her baby sibling Night Light with Lamp and Desk Lamp their father and mother respectively.
    • Outlet's family is more modest with Battery and Portable Charger as her parents and USB Cube as her adorable baby brother.
    • Peace logo's family are all variations of friendly logos - Papa Smiley, Mama Rainbow and Older Brother Peace Fingers.
    • Pin Cushion's parents are sewing supplies like them with Embroidery (Mom) and Yarn Ball (Dad).
    • The parents of PNG are a blank white square and a blank grey square, both surprisingly are party animals compared to their lackluster son.
    • Purple Pencil has two mothers, one being a mechanical pencil and the other a ballpoint pen.
    • Monumenty's family runs a freelance monument business involving himself, his parents, Bronze Statue (Father) and Marble Slab (Mother), and his many, many siblings which is how he can expertly craft tombstones for his temporarily deceased teammates.
    • Sharpie's parents, believe it or not, are absolutely normal and well-adjusted but are mildly terrified of them. Their mother and father are a highlighter and a ballpoint pen respectively.
    • Spam's family are all branded canned goods - Papa Boyardee, Mama Beans, Older Brother Campbell and Baby Sister Kraft.
    • In contrast to everybody else, Steve Japple is an orphan who doesn't know his parents and lived inside a cardboard box before the show. This explains his type for parental figures in order to fill in the void.
    • Walnut's extensive family is just the Plants vs. Zombies cast on the plants' side.
    • Both the parents of Hatcher and Eggcardo are long dead.
• Working Title: The show was originally called "Boring Dumb Show Man" before it was changed to the current name "Nice Show For Weenies" and its acronym was recycled for "Badwill's Damned Show of Malice" later on.
