Trivia / Nella the Princess Knight

Go To

  • Adored by the Network:
    • Along with PAW Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, and Rusty Rivets, it got renewed for another season mere months after it premiered. It also gets promotion on video streaming sites and is one of the few shows to get reruns on Nickelodeon, and only the popular shows get reruns on Nick. (PAW, Shimmer, Rusty, Nella, Blaze and the Monster Machines, and Bubble Guppiesnote  all have reruns on Nick.) Unfortunately, it was eventually screwed as said below.
    • Despite premieres being shafted to the 24/7 Nick Jr channel, the show still gets promoted on Nick Jr's social media alongside the other popular shows.
  • Blooper:
    • No matter what Nella is wearing when she decides it's time to be a Princess Knight, the Transformation Sequence shows her everyday dress being turned into armor.
    • Since her updated transformation mid-season 1, Nella now wears a tiara with her armor; but until a few episodes later she doesn't wear it post-transformation.
  • Channel Hop: Due to abysmal ratings on Nick Jr. on Nick, new episodes now air on the Nick Jr. channel since 2018.
  • Follow the Leader: The show takes plenty of cues from Sofia the First. Also, some of the concepts are similar to Mike the Knight and Nella's transformation sequence is similar to when on that show Mike declares "It's time to be a knight and do it right!"
  • No Export for You: While there is a ton of merchandise released in all countries outside of the United States, the only merchandise currently available in the US are books and home video releases.
  • The Other Darrin: King Dad, Queen Mom, Olivia, Blaine, Uta, and Flutter all get new voice actors in Season 2.
  • Schedule Slip: Since episodes got moved to the Nick Jr. channel, the show has only aired one new episode a month, mostly on Sundays as part of the "Girls Rule Sundays" programming block.
  • Screwed by the Network: Due to abysmal ratings, new episodes premiered on the Nick Jr. channel beginning on February 12, 2018, instead of on the Nick Jr. block. It ended in December 2019 with little fanfare, and three episodes were dumped online.
  • Series Hiatus: It is currently unknown if the series will return.
