  • Approval of God: Shinichi Fukuda, the creator of the series, cried Tears of Joy upon seeing the anime adaptation. She even admitted to have watched the first two episodes again and again for 13 hours straight.
  • Completely Different Title: The manga is published in France and Latin America with the title Sexy Cosplay Doll.
  • Defictionalization:
    • Hina Sugita, Marin Kitagawa's Japanese voice actress, cosplaying as Shizuku Kuroe, with the dress made personally by Shouya Ishige, Gojo's Japanese voice actor. For this, Ishige sought advice and guidance from a professional cosplayer to pull it off.
    • The live action music video for the ending song "Koi no Yukue" has singer Akari Akase, who is also a gravure idol and cosplayer, cosplaying as Kitagawa in her school uniform and her two iconic cosplay outfits.
    • Erika Langarica, Marin Kitagawa's Latin American Spanish voice actress, also made videos and photos cosplaying as the character on her social media accounts.
  • The Foreign Subtitle: Is My Dress-Up Darling: Bisque Doll in Italy.
  • The Red Stapler: Interest in Hina dolls spiked thanks to the popularity of the anime adaptation.
  • Sleeper Hit: Almost no one was expecting an ecchi slice of life romantic comedy series about cosplay to become the big breakout hit of the Winter 2022 season, much less go toe-to-toe against industry juggernauts like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Attack on Titan, but almost immediately after the first episode premiered, it became one of the most highly-rated series of the year. Additionally, many immediately considered Marin Kitagawa to be "Best Girl of 2022" shortly after the anime adaptation premiered. On the AniTrendz website, it was the #1 Anime of the Winter 2022 season as well as winning Female Character (Kitagawa), Male Character (Gojo), Ship (Kitagawa + Gojo), Supporting Female (Juju), Best Romance show, Best Slice of Life series and Best Ending Theme ("Koi no Yuzue" by Akari Akase).
  • Star-Making Role: This series features the first big breakout roles for the actresses voicing Marin Kitagawa (Hina Suguta) and Shinju Inui (Hina Yomiya). On the English side, Paul Dateh also made his voice acting debut as Wakana Gojo.
