Trivia / Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force

Go To

  • Cancellation: The Mega Drive port of the game was announced in 1993 and planned to be released at one point due to the amount of coverage it received with Japanese video game magazines such as Beep! MegaDrive and Marukatsu Mega Drive, but it was canceled due to the manufacturing costs of cartridges exceeding the expected profits for production.
    • Un-Canceled: Opera House, Co. bought out the rights to Fill-in-Café's back catalogue of video games in 2020, and with Masatoshi Imaizumi's supervision and Columbus Circle as the publisher, the Mega Drive version was completed and released on September 17, 2020 as a limited physical release.
  • Colbert Bump: The game gained a bit of recognition when former Treasure designer Tetsuhiko "Han" Kikuchi mentioned during an interview in the November 2012 issue of Nintendo Power that Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force and Capcom's Alien vs. Predator arcade game served as the main inspiration behind Guardian Heroes.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: As import titles such as this are hard to come by nowadays, this game is no exception. The FM Towns version is exceedingly rare to find, commanding almost $280 at auction, while legitimate floppies of Sharp X68000 version is nowhere to be seen anymore.
    • Rescued: The PlayStation remake was rescued in 2011, being made available in the Japanese PlayStation Network as stated above. A digital version of the original based on the Sharp X68000 version is being sold through Amusement Center (Japanese).
  • The Merch: The game spawned two (Japan-only) soundtracks, an original soundtrack with the Sharp X68000 version's music, and another titled Mad Stalker 2142 with some arrangements and original pieces of music.
  • No Export for You: Like Fill-in Café's Asuka 120% Burning Fest. and Panzer Bandit, Mad Stalker: Full Metal Force (along with its ports and remake) was never released outside of Japan. The PlayStation remake was re-released on PlayStation Network only in Japan, although it can be imported this way if you have a Japanese PSN account and the yen to cover the cost.
    • The game's original soundtrack and the MAD STALKER 2142 soundtrack also never left Japan.
    • The 2020 Mega Drive version was released only in Japan, however, there are online import stores such as Play-Asia that sells the game overseas.
