The Other Darrin: Mixed with Channel Hop, Seasons 1 and 2 were dubbed into English by Azur Studios based in Vancouver, Canada (seemingly paid for the Japanese owners rather than Funimation who simply distributed those seasons on disc/streaming). Season 3 onward (as a result of Funimation actually footing the bill for the dub this time) has been outsourced to NYAV Post (which, while having studios in New York and Los Angeles, also utilized remote recording to get actors from around the world for the dub) resulting in the entire dub cast of Seasons 1 & 2 being replaced.
The anime's official subs and English dub refer to the setting as "The Middle Kingdom". This is a more direct translation of 中国 and reflects how people living at that time would have referred to the setting, as the name "China" originates from the 16th century CE, long after the events of the story. Most people in-story would use 中国 to refer to the states in the central plains.
