** Pretty much everyone figured out from ''one'' trailer scene that [[spoiler:Claire would sic Rexie on the ''I. rex'']] at the film's climax.
** The shot of the park's plaza with the ''Spinosaurus'' skeleton in the film's trailer had many fans believing that [[spoiler:the ''Tyrannosaurus'' would destroy it sometime during the climax as a TakeThat moment to the previous film.]]
** There's a surprisingly high number of fans who correctly guessed that [[spoiler: the ''Mosasaurus'' would play a role in defeating the ''I. rex'', since it's probably one of the few, if not the only, dinosaurs (or more accurately [[IAmNotWeasel sea lizard]]) that is bigger than the ''I. rex'' and can easily make a dinner out of it given the chance to do so, which she promptly did in the climax of the film.]]
** Pretty much everyone, from the third trailer on, knew that [[spoiler: Zara was going to wind up as Mosasaur bait.]]
** Fans who kept up with supplementary materials such as the toy lines correctly guessed that Blue would be the most prominent raptor, mainly due to her having the OddNameOut compared to the military ThemeNaming of her siblings and due to her sharing space in a promotional photo with Chris Pratt's character.
** [[spoiler: Simon Masani's fate]] was clear to anyone who had watched the helicopter crash into the aviary and explode in the trailers leading up to the film's release.

** Chris Pratt and Colin Tervorrow regularly say that canonical backstory for Owen is that he was a dolphin trainer in the Navy, making him the ideal candidate to train highly-intelligent animals that people make the mistake of assuming are fully tamed.

* TheCharacterDiedWithHim: Creator/RichardAttenborough's health was in rapid decline during production of this film, negating any chance of reprising his role as John Hammond. That said, it is pure coincidence that Hammond was already written out as having passed away, only for Attenborough to indeed pass away in real life.

* DeletedScene: Shown in an interview with Creator/BryceDallasHoward (about how [[Creator/RonHoward her dad]] posting a picture of her and Creator/ChrisPratt together at a party accidentally announced the film ahead of schedule) but not in the film, probably because it might have been too soon [[MoodWhiplash after a touching scene]] with a dying dinosaur: Yet another [[ToiletHumor dinosaur droppings joke]] is made in the series. This time, it involves Owen and Claire having to put some of the stuff on themselves to mask their scent. * StarMakingRole: ''Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy'' showed the world Creator/ChrisPratt has what it takes to be a film star. The financial success of this film (which broke the record for fastest time to a billion at the box office) cemented him as a box office draw.

** The ''Apatosaurus'' was originally supposed to appear in ''Film/TheLostWorldJurassicPark'', but was replaced with ''[[SeldomSeenSpecies Mamenchisaurus]]''.

* AccidentallyCorrectWriting: Possibly, with a line from Lowery complaining about the idea of corporations naming dinosaurs and sarcastically suggesting "Pepsisaurus" and "Tostitodon". * WhatCouldHaveBeen: Having been in DevelopmentHell since 2001, it's only natural that the story went through major rewrites.
** One of the earliest versions of the film would involve dinosaurs managing to migrate to the Costa Rican mainland and Grant and Malcolm would team up once again to investigate another [=InGen=] owned island infested with dinosaurs. In one storyboard, it was going to go to a park ranger who tried to save Zach and Gray. Later, it would go to [[DeadlineNews a news reporter]] catching the whole incident on camera before the angry pterosaurs attack his helicopter. In both versions, the person is not just in the ''Mosasaurus''' mouth when he gets eaten, but his torso is ''hanging out of the side''. And to make matters even worse, the ''Mosasaurus'' then drags the bloody human body into a nearby aquarium, wherein a horrified family gets to see [[NightmareFuel everything]].
** The introduction, according to storyboards, was initially going to show more of the park and its many attractions. Among these attractions would have included a treetop observatory wherein people could watch ''Brachiosaurus'' herds, a gondola lift in the Aviary wherein people can get up close and personal with ''Pteranodons'' (and even throw fish through a special slot to feed them) and watch them eat live fish from a water bowl on top of the gondola lifts, a function of ''Gallimimus'' valley wherein people can watch the ''T. rex'' hunt the ''Gallimimus'' (perhaps as a CallBack to the first film), a submarine tour wherein people can see more marine reptiles in the Lagoon, including a ''Plesiosaurus'' and an ''Ichthyosaurus'' and a night tour wherein people can meet the ''Velociraptors'' while wearing night vision goggles.
** The ''Stegoceratops'' was originally going to be an actual dinosaur that appeared in the movie alongside other hybrid dinosaurs rather than a simple render on a computer, but Trevorrow scrapped it after he watched ''Film/ReturnOfTheJedi'' with his son, who pointed out that since [[ThereIsAnother Leia was also a Jedi]], then Luke wasn't unique. He then applied that to the ''Indominus rex'', making it the only hybrid dinosaur that appears so that it wouldn't seem like one of many.

[[ProductionNickname Production notes for Jurassic Park identify her as Roberta]], but this name has never been used in media and in the fandom she is most frequently known by her nickname Rexy. This is actually a misspelling of "Rexie", the name Muldoon used to refer to the adult ''rex'' in the novel but it's by far her most wildly used name, with many fans contacting Colin Trevorrow in the lead up to ''Fallen Kingdom'' asking if it would ever be canonized. It was eventually brought into the official lore in the novel ''The Evolution of Claire'', which refers to her as Rexy several times throughout.

** The fight with ''Tyrannosaurs rex'' and the ''Indominus rex'' reuses elements of the original version of the ''Tyrannosaurs'' vs ''Spinosaurs'' battle from the third film, as the original version of the battle had the ''Spinosaurs'' throwing the ''Tyrannosaurs'' into the ground multiple times as the ''Tyrannosaurs'' tried to get up, also a scene where the ''Tyrannosaurs'' nearly ates the main protagonists as it lays in the ground and in the film the ''Indominus rex'' nearly kills the ''Tyrannosaurs'' by choking her before biting down her neck, which is how the ''Spinosaurs'' was originally gonna kill the ''Tyrannosaurs''.

* TheOtherDarrin: Greg Burson passed away in 2008, so Mr. DNA's voice is provided by [[CreatorCameo the film's director]].

* TheCharacterDiedWithHim: Played with; John Hammond is revealed to have passed away in 1997 (making the deleted scene of his funeral in ''The Lost World'' canonical), but Richard Attenborough's health was in decline during this film's production period, and he passed away in August 2014 just as filming began wrapping up. Attenborough wouldn't have been able to reprise the role even if he wanted to.
