Trivia / Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem

Go To

  • Fan Translation: Complete English translation patches for both the original and New Mystery of the Emblem exist, with the latter releasing in 2012 in response to Nintendo of America's disinterest in creating an official localization of the game.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes:
    • With the discontinuation of the Satellaview, the original maps from BS Fire Emblem: Archanea Saga nowadays only exist as playable ROMs with most of the audio and cutscenes missing. However, they can only be played through an emulator, and even then, they are notoriously difficult to set up.
    • Despite the previous game getting ported onto the Wii U, New Mystery Of The Emblem never saw a rerelease beyond the Nintendo DS. As the game has long since gone out of print, its increasing rarity makes it highly sought after amongst fans of the series who prefer to buy the game physically, and copies of the game tend to fetch a hefty amount of money. This does not apply to the original Mystery of the Emblem, as it is still being ported to newer consoles, which prevents it from suffering the same fate as its remake.
    • New Mystery of the Emblem's soundtrack was never featured in an album in its entirety, and the closest to a physical release that any song from that game can have is on a few other Fire Emblem albums.
  • Milestone Celebration: New Mystery of the Emblem was released to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series.
  • No Export for You: New Mystery of the Emblem was never given an international release for unclear reasons. It's notably the only Fire Emblem game to stay in Japan after Nintendo starting releasing the series internationally, and is one of their biggest localization gaps in the 21st century.
  • What Could Have Been: Unused data in Mystery of the Emblem suggests that Gotoh and the missing characters (Darros, Wrys, Jake, Beck, and Roger) were indeed considered to return as playable characters. The ones other than Gotoh were scrapped during development while Gotoh himself was reduced to an NPC in both books.
