- B-Team Sequel: A slight case with Eureka where writer Dai Sato, who was the main scriptwriter on the original series & first 2 Hi-Evo films, did not return, with director Tomoki Kyoda and Yuuichi Nomura (who wrote several episodes of the original E7 series) handling the film's script. Likewise, the franchise's character designer Kenichi Yoshida did not return either with Masashi Okumura taking over in his place.
- Died During Production: Kouji Tsujitani played Dewey for the final time in the first film. After Tsujitani's fatal stroke in October 2018, he was replaced by Keiji Fujiwara (Holland's actor) for the second film. He himself succumbed to cancer in April 2020, a year before the third film's scheduled release. As a result, he was replaced by Kōichi Yamadera.
- Direct to Video: Funimation's U.S. release of Anemone went straight to DVD/Blu-ray after some small one-off sub-only screenings at conventions like Anime Expo, likely due to the first film's poor reception in its theatrical run (as evidenced by other English licencors dropping theatrical plans after Hi-Evo 1's failure). Subverted for Eureka, when Funimation would announce that they would surprisingly be screening the trilogy's final film on May 17 and 18, 2022.
- The Other Darrin:
- Due to Keiji Fujiwara's 2016 cancer diagnosis, Toshiyuki Morikawa became Holland Novak's de facto voice actor.
- While Funimation and New Generation Pictures managed to reunite most of the original cast for all 3 films, there were still some cases of this:
- Matthieu's brief appearance in the first film is voiced by Max Lawrence (instead of Kirk Thornton)
- Bill Rogers takes over as both Uno in the first film (from Dan Woren) and as Dr. Bear (from Joey Camen) in Anemone.
- Kimberly Woods voices Gidget in Eureka, taking over from Jessica Straus. Though in this case, it was a choice Straus happily signed off on so Gidget would have an actress matching her ethnicity. Straus herself would still have a role in the film as Saorise McKenzie
- Role Reprise:
- The vast majority of the English cast was brought back together, an especially notable feat when VAs like Kim Strauss (Dewey), Michael Forest (Blair) and Peter Doyle (Dominic) have not been very active in anime/voice acting in the years between the original series and these films.
- The Japanese cast of the final film features reprisals from other parts of the franchise: Hiro Shimono and Megumi Toyoguchi return as Sumner and Ruri from the New Wave & New Vision video games and Bin Sasaki returns as Endo from Eureka Seven AO. The Eureka English dub replicates this with both Sam Riegel and Michelle Ruff returning as Sumner and Ruri from the dub of those games.
- Schedule Slip:
- The trilogy were slated to release one film a year from 2017 to 2019. While the first 2 films managed to stick to schedule, the final movie was delayed to 2021.
- The final film was also delayed thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting production from its original planned Summer 2021 release to the fall.
- You Sound Familiar: Keiji Fujiwara, who voiced Holland Novak in the TV series, would later voice Dewey in the second film.
