  • Ascended Meme:
    • 'Killa', the Scav boss of the Interchange map was confirmed to be partially inspired from various Reddit and forum posts clamoring for a raid boss dressed up in stereotypical 'Slavic' tracksuits with white Adidas-style vertical stripes painted on all of their equipment.
    • Hatchlings are recognized by the devs in the form of the description of a collectors item (now also an equippable melee weapon), the Antique Axe.
"Antique axe with a damaged handle that belonged to the ancient clan of hatchlings called WYCC."
    • "Rat Cola" was added to the game as a drink with art and a description referencing Youtuber General Sam, as part of a quest that involved several other Ascended Memes.
  • Follow the Leader:
    • Netease Games has no less than three games with the Tarkov style loot-and-survive gameplay mechanics: Cyber Hunter: Loot Lord, Badlanders, and Lost Light. Those games are made for mobile players in mind and has weaker scavenger AI to further distinguish the Player-Versus-Player aspect of the game.
    • EA Games also had the "Hazard Zone" gameplay mode in Battlefield 2042, while Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II had their own spin on the genre in their free-to-play "DMZ" mode, many of the mechanics of which were borrowed for Modern Warfare III's iteration of Zombies.
    • Indie game Marauders closely follows the Tarkov formula but retains a Diesel Punk aesthetic with WWII to Cold War-era weaponry, all while set In Space
