- Acting for Two: In the Japanese version, the King of Accordia and his brother Fractos are both voiced by Yūji Mitsuya.
- Celebrity Voice Actor: The Japanese version features actor/dancer Mirai Moriyama as Lazarel, actress/fashion model Emi Takei as Teresa and actor Takayuki Yamada as Prince Cesar.
- Children Voicing Children: The English dub features child actors Oliver McKinnon-Wardell and Harry Marcus as the respective voices of Healix and Ruff.
- No Export for You: Just like the first game, the PlayStation 3 version wasn't released outside of Japan (and, once again, complaints about this aren't too loud due to the flagrant technical superiority of the PlayStation 4 version). The Play Station Vita version also isn't being brought over, and, for now at least, only Japan gets the Nintendo Switch version.
- The Other Darrin: In the English dub, Oliver McKinnon-Wardell replaced Harry Collett as the voice of Healix due to the latter aging out of the role.
- Role Reprise:
- Quite a few cast members from the Japanese version of Heroes return, including Rie Kugimiya as Healix, Shoko Nakagawa as Alena, Hikaru Midorikawa as Kiryl, Miyuki Sawashiro as Maya, Hiroshi Kamiya as Terry, Ayana Taketatsu as Jessica, Yuko Kaida as Patty and Shimon Awano as Gragwort.
- Yoshimasa Hosoya reprises his role as Angelo from the Nintendo 3DS release of Dragon Quest VIII.
- In addition to most of the English cast returning to reprise their roles from the previous installment, Blake Ritson returns as Angelo from VIII.
