Trivia / DEATH BATTLE! S02E27 - Wolverine VS Raiden

• Both Raiden and Wolverine had a love interest named Rose.
• The Death Battle hosts wanted Wolverine's voice actor to have an inspiration from the 90s tv show. He even imitates several of Steve Blum's voice clips from Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
• This was the third Death Battle shown via livestream: Boba Fett vs. Samus Aran Remastered and Goku vs. Superman 2 preceded it.
• Author Appeal: DB's animator, Torrian, wanted Raiden to appear in a Death Battle for quite some time while Wolverine was a popular pick since the show's start. Eventually, the team limited his potential opponents to five characters: Shredder, Freddy Krueger, Vega, Baraka and Raiden, who was chosen because he had the best chance to face off against Wolverine. Guess they picked the right guy.
• The battle takes place in the city surrounding Fortuna Castle from Devil May Cry 4. In addition, Wolverine and Raiden's final clash is set to Let's Just See, Vergil's battle theme from that game's Updated Re-release.
• Wolverine calls Raiden 'Robocop' and 'Terminator' as taunts; a reference to the Robocop vs Terminator episode. This is because all three of these characters are mechanical cyborgs. This is one of the few times a previous episode is directly referenced to during the actual fight. Voltron (a combatant from a canceled episode) is also mention.
