Trivia / Dave and Bambi: Golden Apple Edition

Go To

  • Approval of God: MoldyGH, the creator of the original Vs. Dave and Bambi (and Dave's Fun Algebra Class, for that matter), has made multiple fan remixes of songs from this mod, and even composed the song "Ready Loud" for the 1.2 update.
  • Ascended Fanon:
    • A fanmade Minus concept for Ringi has been approved as official by Dragolii, Ringi's owner.
    • Due to the fact that both Do You Accept and Tristan have hair represented by the word "hair", a couple of fans believed that the former could be the latter's biological father before having given him off to Dave. Log Man, one of the mod's developers, would later confirm this theory.
  • Colbert Bump:
    • Dave's Fun Algebra Class gained a tremendous popularity boost since its characters were featured in "Algebra", going from a relatively unknown Baldi's Basics to being unanimously known among the D&B fanbase.
    • Similar to Dave's Fun Algebra Class, Garrett's Funny Animal Game got much more attention when "Ferocious" was released.
    • The Beckah Shae song "Faith Is" received a surge of new listeners after the release of the mod, due to the melody and vocal progression being directly lifted for the Green Alien Monitor's segment of "Algebra".
  • Creator's Pest: At one point, the devs on the official Golden Apple Twitter account have publicly stated that the team hated Brobgonal, but couldn't get rid of him because of his popularity amongst the fans. This resulted in them making him as unlikeable as they possibly could, turning him into a sociopathic, bigoted Politically Incorrect Villain that pissed himself constantly, but had yet to lower his popularity enough to get rid of him.
  • Development Gag: An alternate version of Ohungi known as Gogahn-Hungry appears in the background of "The Big Dingle", referencing his origin as a Golden Apple opponent prior to being transferred to DIMENSIONAL DEEP-END.
  • Referenced by...: Bandu makes a physical appearance in the UNLOADED WITH LYRICS video from the Friday Night Funkin' WITH LYRICS series, as part of the library's audience.
  • Role-Ending Misdemeanor:
    • Cynda, one of the composers of the mod ended up getting kicked out of the team after harrassing the other developers of the mod, including Sky.
    • TH3R34LD34L, another composer and the original creator of Jambi, ended up getting kicked out of the team after being exposed for having drawn Rule 34 of a minor's OC.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: As announced in this tweet from the official mod account, Jumpman25, the creator behind Garrett and the rest of the Funny Animal Game cast, decided some time after the 1.2 update that they didn't want Garrett to be in other mods, which affected both this mod and the original Dave's Fun Algebra Class. The song "Ferocious" will be receiving an overhaul based on a different Baldi's Basics mod, "Algebra" will be replacing Garrett with an original character made for the remaster of DFAC, and "Theft" will be removed from the mod entirely (albeit for different reasons long before the Garrett ban).
  • Word of Gay: Bandu is a pansexual trans man, Bandu, Ringi and Doll Bandu have male partners, Dale is aroace, and Dingle, Donk, ???, and [RECOVERED_PROJECT] are all genderless. And this is just the characters currently in the mod!
  • Word of God: Due to the mod's minimal dialogue, almost all of the information about the mod's lore comes from this, including the reason for Dave's Adaptational Villainy and Bandu's connection to Expunged.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • A song named "Leech" was originally planned for 2.0, featuring Bandu being transformed into a monster after a Puppeteer Parasite infects him. It was scrapped due to the personal preferences of Sky! and Cynda causing it to quickly become a distasteful concept in the lull between 1.1 and 2.0.
    • There were a ton of songs that were planned for the 2.0 update, but later were scrapped when the mod came under fire for excessive bloat. Most notable among these were multiple songs for each individual character from "Algebra" (although both Garrett and Diamond Man's songs were still added in the 1.2 update), a cover of "Triple Trouble" with the Trixes, and a song called "Ripple" featuring an angry Bambi.
    • A character named Ohungi was meant to have a song called "Decimal" in the 2.0 update, but his creator, pointy, ended up leaving the team to create a separate mod with him due to being given a lack of creative control, taking Ohungi and "Decimal" with him. (An alternate version of him still appears as a cameo in the background of "The Big Dingle," however.)
  • Why the Fandom Can't Have Nice Things:
    • In the mod's Discord server, a sticker based on the memetic Brobgonal had to be deleted after an incident where the server was raided with people spamming the sticker. The lore was then updated to say Brobgonal finally got potty-trained on the day of the incident.
    • The mod's Funkipedia page is one of few to be blocked from anyone other than admins editing it, due to a plethora of people trying to insert unconfirmed or fake information and characters of their own. The character Sammy was later created as a jab towards this.
