Trivia / Cookie's Bustle

Go To

  • Colbert Bump: While Cookie's Bustle was already gaining traction due to an attempted takedown, it saw a huge increase in notoriety thanks to a livestream by Vinny Vinesauce, in which he played it as part of a multi-game segment yet ended up engrossed enough to show several clips of it as well as its endings. Beforehand, it was incredibly obscure even within its native Japan.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Physical copies of the game went out of print more than a decade ago, and unless you live close to a used games store in Japan, it's likely that you'll turn to downloading an archived copy in order to play the game.
  • No Export for You: It was never released outside of Japan, despite initial plans for it to be released in Europe.
  • Streisand Effect: Starting in late 2022, an unknown individual began filing fraudulent copyright claims on the game and takedown requests on anything to do with it, whether it be downloads of the game or videos on YouTube and Twitch. This only led to more people wanting to check out and research the game and document any remaining traces of its existence.
